| Maybe that list goes along with what I heard on the news this morning. The news said that the FDA ( think that is who it was) was saying that they were suggesting that ALL canned foods be pulled all the shelves (even those NOT on the recall list) as fear of the contamination MAY be in other canned foods. I put another thread this morning about what I heard. Now that you have listed these other foods that are distibuted by Menu Foods, what I heard this morning makes allot of sense now. I am not going to feed any canned foods for a while

The poodle played that trick on me back in the day when her babysitter was feeding her table food behind my back Didn't last long either. Now with Bobbi, I wouldn't dare do the same.......he is too small and I am scared of hypoglycemia

Menufoods said to pull ALL affected brands whether they had the number or not. Guess my state doesn't agree because I went to several stores yesterday and the food was still there........made me angry ![]() What is interesting is that the foods that are made at Menu plants (which they aren't going to tell you) have a disclaimer saying their food is NOT affected............but their food is being made there regardless and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth

| I too am very confused about the food issue. My concern is, if there have been 2 companies recently with this problem, who know who won't be next? What if we change to something else and then that food gets recalled? I am leery about giving them anything now! My 2 adults eat mostly dry but the pups were eating the canned. I guess they are big enough now that they dont need it but they sure do like it! I am very seriously considering making my own from now on. I'm sure I could use my grinder to make it easer for the pups to eat but what about the other ingredients that they need? Would giving them vitamin supplements be enough?

If you are thinking of going to organic, you might want to look into using Dr. Harveys Canine Health. The only thing about this is that it is not in kibble form. It is a pre-mix and you add your own protein to it. Im trying it out now. Izzy loves it! Here is the link from my original posting: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72865

| No problem. I had never heard of it either. I found out about it from the lady that owns an upscale boutique here in Michigan called The Uppity Puppy. She makes homemade treats from organic ingredients and sells other stuff for the pampered pup. She swears by it!

| There's another great food by "The Honest Kitchen." Their foods are 100% human grade and are not produced in a petfood plant. They're made in an FDA approved human food producing facility. I got this info from their website. It is dehydrated food...Here's a link to their FAQs...It sounds like a pretty great food! You guys should read it the FAQs. I haven't tried it, but I'm thinking about it. Let me know what you guys think! Oops, I forgot the link...Here it is: http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/products/faq.shtml

| That Dr. Harvey's food sounds great also! So, you just add chicken or whatever meat you want?

He's been eating it for almost a week and he absolutely loves it! I have noticed that his dryness went away and he doesnt have as much tear goop around his eyes. I am thinking of mixing kibble with it because I think he should still have that for his teeth. So I'm going to try Merricks or Canidae. Here is the link to his website: http://www.drharveys.com/dogs/index.asp

Right now TJ and Roxy are eating Nature's Variety RAW Frozen - They LOVE it!!! They also eat about 5 pieces of Canidae a day. I just don't feel 100% comfortable with any kind of food produced in a Pet Plant. I am going to try this Honest Kitchen stuff! I'll let you know how it goes | |

| Please do let me know if your babies like it I'm very curious about it, and I really want to get it since it's produced in a human food facility I have to wait until Emma is done with her current 5lb bag of Merricks, and she's only 3.5lbs. So it could be awhile since I mix it with Merricks canned and Natural balance rolls. And she prefers the wet over the dry... I bet she would love The Honest Kitchen Food

| There is a place that is about 2 miles from me that sells it. I am going to get it on Saturday! So we shall see I am still not getting what it is exactly. Is it raw meat that was dehydrated? No cooking of the meat? It says something about compare to BARF/Raw Frozen. I guess I will just ask the store when I get there |
