Thank you........I didn't see CS on there at all......I may look into going to organic foods.......This just makes me SICK!!! It makes me not know what to think!

Thanks for that list Jess! I feed Canidae as well and it's nice to know that their food is NOT being packaged by Menu Foods!

I used to feed Jaden and Jewelina their food and I heard it was going to be discontinued so I decided to let them finish their bag and then switch to a different food they could stay on. After doing extensive research on their company and emailing some of their representives and recieveing some rude and appauling letters back from them, I threw out the rest of their food and switched them to Canidae right then and there. However, there are tons of people that feed this to their pups on here daily and as far as I know haven't had any problems so if I were you I'd do some research and make your decision based on what you feel is best!

Thank you Jess for the list, what about Royal Canin? I was thinking to switch to timberwolf organics, I even order a sample bag but if they don't want to say I found that questionable, I also was thinking of natural balance and solid gold but now I'm so

Phoebe is been on Royal Canin Sensible choice for so long, never had a problem with that food her stools are firm but I just wanted to try other food, she is so picky with her food that I have to mix her food with a little of boiled ck breast, I will try Canidae I guess

hope she like it.

Thanks to Jess for the detective work! Interesting to see that Menu foods is responsible for so many brands! I use Canidae too and am happy with it because not only is it a top premium food, but my dogs like it too. But I have no problem with Diamond and was feeding the Diamond Small Breed puppy kibble but switched to Canidae so all 4 of my dogs could eat the same food (from puppies to senior).

Many human food companies have had recalls too. My medicine was recalled. I don't hold it against a company automatically if they have to recall a product. Diamond was very proactive after their dry food was discovered to contain a mold from corn. (This was back in 2005) They redid the recipe for their food and no longer use corn in their kibble! I thought that was a great response. Their food is very good ingredient-wise and my dogs loved it! It is the dry food that they ate the very best. As soon as the two little ones are a year old, I will probably include the adult Diamond in our rotation.

I will buy Peter Pan peanut butter again too as soon as it is back on the shelves. Recalls happen. So many companies have to rely on other suppliers and tragedies do happen. So sad when that costs lives -- human or our pets. But I won't boycott a company just because of a recall. I do detest the delays in initiating the recalls though. I know corporations have a lot of red tape but when they could be saving dogs' lives, they should react more swiftly than Menu Foods did!

Natura (Healthwise, California Naturals, Innova): Canned diets made at the South Dakota Menu Foods Plant but have not been recalled. Dry diets are made at their own plant.

Jess, thanks so much for posting that list...I feed Merricks, and I'm glad to see it's not made at a Menu Foods plant. I have been thinking about trying Canidae though simply because it seems like Emma won't eat her dry Merricks without it mixed with canned. She turns her nose up at the dry, but absolutely loves the Merrick canned. How do your dogs like the Canidae? My girl is very picky.

I believe I can safely say I have tried most if not all the premium foods. I obtained samples and tried mine on them. They ate every single one. I don't think they care what I put in their bowl as long as it's food

(I am very blessed).

Now, I decided to leave them on Canidae because I feel 'safe' based on my research. I also really like the Life's Abundance but it's a drag getting it shipped and with my busy life schedule I hated the thought of someday running out.

They just finished their Life's Abundance (I was mixing a little of both) and I was able to find the Canidae at a feed store around here. I am sticking with the Lamb and rice formula. I have seen very positive changes on their coats

As a treat, they get Evangers (looks like human food)

You're lucky that your babies aren't picky! Both of mine are! But Miko has an excuse because most foods make him sick. Emma is another story
