| Frontline & Bathing question! For those of you who use frontline flea and tick control on your Yorkies - how long do you wait to give them another bath? Just wondering if a week is too soon or will it wash off the frontline even though most of it soaks in to thier skin? Thanks!

| I'm not a advocate of chemicals and use them only when absolutely necessary. So because of that, and per my vet's input, I apply 24 hours before bathing.

What I use and it has worked for me, is K9 Advantiks......it keeps the mosquitoes, fleas and ticks off. I show dogs, so the risk of me bringing home something from the show grounds and/or hotel rooms is always there. As I said I don't like using chems, but if the need is there, I will. Ticks, lime disease; fleas, tapeworms; mosquitoes, heartworms.......that's the alternative

| My vet said 48 hours after. Also, I order my Frontline from petsmegastore.com. They are located in Australia, so you have to click on the USA for dollars. I just ordered a 6-month supply and received it within 5 days. They had free shipping at that time, and the cost was $44.00. |

| My vet says no bath for two days before or after for Frontline and three days for Advantage. I'm still using Advantage for mine since it comes in a smaller dosage than the smallest Frontline. Advantage only kills fleas, not ticks but ticks aren't a problem here. Vet did remind me again to never use K-9 Advantix since I also have cats. It has an chemical that can be deadly to cats. It doesn't have to be applied to cats to affect them. Cats have gotten sick and even died just from being in the house with dogs who have been dosed with the K-9 Advantix. |
