| Picky eater... Pepper is 9 months old and I have yet to find that kind of dry kibble that 'strikes his fancy' . Oh, I have tried... First, BilJac (breeder's choice) mixed with Innova, then Nutro Natural Puppy -2 kinds, Royal Canin -here I tried 3 different bags, thanks God they come in sample sizes..., Chicken Soup and Merrick - I'll soon need another pantry for the dog food . Well, I came across a small sample bag of NutriSource Lamb Meal & Rice and I JUST MIGHT HAVE TO BUY MORE OF THAT. Wow, first time in his life my dog cleans up that bowl in one seating... (mixed with a little canned, but still) and eats it up dry throughout the day as well. Anyone knows anything about that food?

| I haven't tried the NutraScience, but have been through the cycle of switch-a-roo and find out what will do. Sparky is 15 weeks and I have been told not to give in to him. He is presently on Merrick's, and began (AGAIN) to go through the finicky stage of not wanting his food no way no how. I called the vet tech (who also owns several Yorkies) and she told me if I started changing everytime he turned his nose up I would be doing it the rest of his life. So began the test of wills this morning. He ate maybe three bites of Merrick's mixed with a little egg (the first time I tried that concoction). He's had it mixed with chicken baby food, yogurt, and cottage cheese. He loves his yogurt and cottage cheese, but will refuse it mixed with his food. I have several bags of samples (Natural Balance, Natures Logic, and Candidae). He loved the Candidae and three weeks ago I was going to switch, and sent my daughter to a Pet Store that carried it, and they convinced her to buy a small bag of Solid Gold Wee Bits and said it was a higher quality food. He ate a few times out of it, and now won't even take a bite. Last week I was trying to get him to eat and he gobbled down the Natural Balance Ultra Premium. So I thought, HALLALULAH!!! But then I talked with the vet tech and I'm not so sure I should switch. She also told me that if I did switch, to go with the Ultra Premium and not the other flavors. I thought the other flavors would be good for a switch. Is Sparky normal or abnormal? Does anyone else feed their furbaby a variety of different foods? We really need some help.. I am a first time Yorkie owner. |

| Oh boy...I grew up with dogs before, but never with Yorkies. Sometimes it seems they (Yorkies) think they can survive on air. At least mine does. I was trying not to give in but when he doesn't eat his portion in the morning and I leave for work, when I come back and see his bowl not touched again, I feel soory for my poor hungry baby. And he wrapped me around his paw already . He's so small though and I'm scared of him not eating too long. I give him 'snacks' (hubby pointed out maybe that's why he's not that hungry), you can't even open the fridge now without Pepper running. That silly dog goes crazy for a piece of dry wheat bread with nothing on it as long as he sees me eat it. And turns his nose up on his doggy food. Those Yorkies!! Good luck with your Sparky, some of them are picky...

| YAY!!! I have a very picky eater, he wants all OUR food, but guess what, I just put a few drops of IAMS SAUCE with his kibble, and he FINALLY LOVES TO EAT and gets SOOOO excited to eat now, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! I don't give much, just a few drops and then I stir it in, this way it hasn't effected his poopys or the amount of time he goes, I AM THRILLED!!! |

| Well, I made a mistake. The vet had recommended giving Tia soft food a couple of times so that she could be "socialized" to it, incase when she's oloder she needs medication or supplements, she won't refuse canned food. She can't eat a full can, and I only had a bit left, so I put the leftovers on top of her kibble. Since that meal, she wouldn't eat ANY of her kibble. She just walks towards it and sniffs it, and moves on. We were concerned, so we bought a different soft food (Eukanuba puppy canned food), and I put a couple of table spoons in her bowl, then I poured her kibble (about 1/4 to 1/3 cup) on top. She eats it! I guess she has to poer her way through some of the kibble to get to the "good" stuff. I'm wary of feeding her only soft food, because I don't want her to ahve dental problems. I'm trying to condition her to having my finger massage her teeth and gums. I hope by next week I'll be able to brush her teeth |
