Calling all Poop Eaters! I found a Solution!!! Ok, it's been 3 days since I started this and it's worked so far!!!! I can't be happier to have found a solution! I've read posts about Annis Seeds but that alone didn't quite do the job so I added alfa-alfa sprouts and viola! No poop eating for 3 days now!!! (I saw that alfa-alfa is in several of the stop eating poop supplements so I decided to try fresh). Here's what I'm doing - I grind up the Annis seeds, minced up the alfa-alfa and mix it with all three girls food. since everything is minced, they can't pick around it. If you have a poop eater try it - please! I would love to know if it works for you too! |
HORRAY FOR YOU!!:D FINALLY an all natural solution to a very common problem. I'm very proud of you. |
Interesting...but what is Annis seed? Dawn |

:lol tears :lol tears :lol tears By the way...how did you hear about this little concoction? When I first got Abbie, she used to eat her poop and then Max learned that bad habit from her. So if he goes in the house, he'll try to eat it to hide the evidence  and sometimes Abbie will try to get some of the snack, too  |

this might work-how do you grind up the seeds????????? yeah i tried the cayenne pepper approach and deter not sure which one did it, but one of them gave mine the runs-no fun AND SHE STILL GOT INTO IT!!!! |
Thanks for the info!!!! I've got to try this!! Deter didn't help what so ever so I was looking for other solution!!! Too bad I just went grocery shopping yesterday... Maybe I'll go for a quick one tonight!! Kana |
Corinne, thanks for the tip. I will definitely try it. How long can it last in the frige being that you are using fresh alfalfa? My Tiger loves to eat his poop  but since Annika and Tiger have the same food, I will give to both. |
I know what Anise seeds are - What the hecks an alfa-alfa sprout? Are they Alfalfa sprouts? or something different? My shih-poo enjoys the tootsie roll treats! |

so how did you grind up the seeds?????? |
Hi all, I am a newbie to the site, but not to Yorkies. I'm currently owned by three of the "little farts" and the oldest one(12 years) is driving me nuts with her habit of laying in wait for the younger two to do thier "doo" so she can snack. I'd love to try your recipe. Would you please post the proportions of the ingredients, ie: how much anise seed to how much alfalfa sprout. Thanks. Love this site.....almost as much as I love my Yorkie furbabies. |
We'd like the receipe too... |

Aren't alfalfa sprouts often linked to ecoli contamination? Does ecoli pose a risk to our little ones? I would love a solution to the poop eating issue! |
1 Attachment(s) I say Alfa-Alfa... you say Alfalfa I say Po-tato... you say potay-to! Same thing! I just spelled it the way it's on the package. Recepie... not much to it... I put the 1/8 tea spoon Anise seeds into the Motar & Pestle Attachment 97745 - I'm sure you can put it into a pepper grinder and would work too. Or even a hammer! - Then I get some Alfalfa and mince it up. - I haven't measured how much. I rinse it really good. I try to get the freshest organic sprouts. Then I mix the sprouts, Anise, tiny bit of canned dog food, and the dry food and mix it together. That's it. Most of the time they leave the poop alone now. I did catch Jolie playing with one yesterday but she spit it out... Then she tried to kiss me! Ewww! I brushed her teeth right away! |
im going to try this. Thanks for posting. |
Oh Ludo eats his poop! I have got to try this! |

Me too! I have tried to pills you buy at Petco, but they really don't work. These little monkey's developed a taste for the poop with those pills :( Thanks, |
Check the ingredients of your food. I\'ve found that my girl only does that if I use a food with fish meal in it. It\'s the same thing if you have a cat in the house, they will sometimes eat the cats poop if it has eaten fish meal.:sickie: :fainted: |
Your post is very timely since I caught Chewie eating his poop on Saturday. YUCK!!! He pooped while I was in the shower and was eating it when I got out. Maybe he was trying to hide the evidence since he decided to go in my bathroom instead of on his pad. :( Hmmmm.....I wonder how many other times he\'s managed to hide the evidence. |
