Question about Natural Balance Meat Rolls Hello again everyone. I have a question about the Natural Balance Meat Rolls. Lexi LOVES them. Finally - a dog food she eats! I'm so excited! My question is about the amount to feed. I e-mailed the company and was told it could be her 'full feed' meaning only the meat roll and nothing else. They also said it has a low salt content which is good. Well the packaging says 2.5 inches for a dog 10lbs and under. Does that mean 2.5inches twice a day or once a day? Also, I've noticed that she drinks a very, very, very large quantity of water now that she's eating this food. How can that be since it has a low salt content? It is just that it has some sort of smoked hickory taste? Does anyone else feed Natural Balance Meat Rolls and notice this?

Maggie won't eat it anymore. I drove over an hour one day to get them too. She loved it for about three days, then snubbed big time. Good thing I have bigger dogs outside. They thought they had died and gone to heaven, with Maggie's leftovers. Now she's in love with Pro Plan Small Breed Puppy Food and Ceasar's Puppy food. She has been eating that longer than all the food I have accumulated in the pantry.

I feed the natural balance beef roles to my little KC. She wouldnt eat anything else when I first adopted her. I mix in a half a freeze dried beef pattie as well, and she LOVES it. The recommendation is 2 1/2" a day if that is all your little one is eating. I wouldnt worry about the water consummtion...KC drinks a whole bowl of water a day. I actually think its great that she does --- us humans are always told we should be drinking more water -- why not our pooches!?

Oh my! Lexi can do 2.5" per meal (2x a day that is). I'll have to cut her back a bit. Thank you so much for this info. It's been very helpful.

I wish I could be delivering some better news but now, after 1 week, Lexi has decided she's tired of the Natural Balance Beef Rolls. I can see I'm not alone either. I think I may resort to boiling chicken for her. She loves that but then I've never given it to her for a week. Maybe she'll tire of that too. I never dreamed a little dog could be so picky. I've been advised that she'll eat when she's good and hungry but I just can't do that. Does anyone else feed their yorkies boiled chicken? Should I supplement it with vitamins of any kind? I'd like your answers but just so you all know, I'm going to make an appointment for the vet for a checkup and I'll ask him as well. I just feel a 'mother knows best' though.

YorkieRules, I boiled chicken for Maggie the first couple of weeks that we had her. I talked to the breeder and she said whatever you feed the babies, mix it with their dry kibbles. So I put Maggie's kibbles in a food processor and really powdered them. I then mixed about 1TBLS of kibble mix to 1TBLS. of boiled chicken. She ate that for about a week, then nose snubbing again. Then we switched to boiled hamburger mixed with kibble mix. Then it was boiled hot dogs, then scrambled egg, and so on and so on. That is why this "Short Order Cook Quit". Maggie now gets her dry food and some Ceasar wet if she wants it. I no longer play the buffet game. She is now eating four times a day, without the games. Yes, I did worry that she would starve, but found out the first day that wasn't going to happen. After her first meal of nose snubbing, she was more than ready to eat lunch, dinner and late snack.

Thank you Stitches29. I am just now realizing that this is becoming a trend much like what you described. It's great and tastey for approx. 1 week and then...hmmmm, don't want it. I am going to try as you described. She's get what she's supposed to get and then it will be eat it or don't. My goodness, these adorable little dogs are just like children! Thanks again. Your advice was a great help.

Together we can whip any problem, (I think). True, I have let Maggie get by with more than I did my own children. When you try my suggestion, make sure your baby gets their Nutrical, or Nutristat just in case. Would hate for your baby to have a sugar crash because of the pouting. Good Luck.. Holler at me and we will attack a new problem.
