I boiled chicken for Maggie the first couple of weeks that we had her. I talked to the breeder and she said whatever you feed the babies, mix it with their dry kibbles. So I put Maggie's kibbles in a food processor and really powdered them. I then mixed about 1TBLS of kibble mix to 1TBLS. of boiled chicken. She ate that for about a week, then nose snubbing again. Then we switched to boiled hamburger mixed with kibble mix. Then it was boiled hot dogs, then scrambled egg, and so on and so on. That is why this "Short Order Cook Quit". Maggie now gets her dry food and some Ceasar wet if she wants it. I no longer play the buffet game. She is now eating four times a day, without the games. Yes, I did worry that she would starve, but found out the first day that wasn't going to happen. After her first meal of nose snubbing, she was more than ready to eat lunch, dinner and late snack. |
