Chest and Legs A bright, rich tan, not extending above the elbow on the forelegs nor above the stifle on the hind legs. (I don't believe the AKC is the be all to end all or however that saying goes, but that's the standard I was referring to) I did sound like a jerk in my post though and apologize for that. I was being quick for one reason or another and sounded snobbish instead of concise. Sorry! And I still hold that if you suspect your pup(s) have a predisposition for an illness or condition, it is your responsibility to keep the pup(s) or inform potential buyers. That's taking responsibility for what you helped create.

| Here is a quote from The Complete Yorkshire Terrier: "There may be a white star or a small blaze located on the fore chest in the tan, or across the black and tan. This is a much looked-for point, as it is an indication that the puppy will probably be a good coat grower in quantity, though not necessarily in quality. It is also an indication that there will be no melanism, or over-supply of pigment. "

| Yes, it is for an adult..if not ALL Yorkie puppies would be in correct in color. White is very hard to find beyond 8 weeks...sometimes the toes or foot will be white, but that hair grows off the end and the resulting hair is gold..I have seen breeders trying to pass off a few white markings as a Parti...people paid a big price only to find the Yorke had no white by 6 months or so... And I do agree, you can not be too careful with health problems in previous litters...I would want to speak to the vet who was caring for the sick puppy...I was ready to refund a pup cost once until I spoke to the vet...he said.."you would have a seizure too if you were hit in the head by a door and had a skull fracture...pet owner failed to tell me that part... Always wise to check out your litters as adults and into old age... |

Thats what i thought and heard to that the white patch(diamond) is a very good thing and a lot of people seek it because it means they will have a nice thick silky coat. I know Daisy has it and she has very silky and thick hair at only 12 weeks old

| I know all about addison's. I did the research. I just wanna know if the white spot is an indication that the litter will have genetic defects. I love this little girl and I think Im gonna keep her. She is extremely healthy, vocal, honory and shows absolutely no signs of having anything wrong with her. |

I would love to read this book. Can you give me the name and author? I am currently reading a book by Janet Jackson (The president of Yorkies of America). She doesn't mention anything about genetic diseases or the white spot. Does anyone know if hypoglacemia genetic? My friend (who had the addison's disease pup) had a pup from a previous litter die from hypoglacemia. That is why I think there might be a chance that her female is the one with the genetic disease. | |

| Both my 8-week-old boy pups have a small "white spot" on their chests and have a beautiful coat so far... and the new hair is growing in gold...You know, after the emergency vet delivered my Trini's pups they asked me if the pups were full Yorkies because they said they don't look like Yorkies but "They look like little Rottweilers." Some people just don't know how different they look when they are born???
