Purina Veterinary Diet?

Thank you to everyone for your insights. It really helps me.

I'm not going to change his diet fast...he's still getting 1/8 cup of Eukanuba at each meal, with about 8 kibbles of Canidae. I started off at 4 pieces a week ago and just add one more every few days. Little bugger picks out the Canidae first though and will eat it before the rest. Oh well, guess that means he likes it! He prefers his food dry too, so I can't really mix it. At first I was putting water and gravy on top like the breeder suggested, but he prefers to crunch!

I just bought some natural yogourt at the grocery store, I'm going to try him with 1/2 teaspoon on his food tonight.

But Tetley doesn't seem to have a severe health issue (at least IMHO, anyway), just needs the "right" food. The vet gave her the Pediatric (puppy, I guess?) formula, not one of the specialized formulas. I would think that IBD or colitis would be irritated by corn, as it's highly indigestible. I wonder?

I do have the food down to a science by now. I really don't mind making the 3 different meals as long as it works. I prepare a days meals the night before. I had Chins before and they are prone to colitis and IBD. I have wee wee pad (triple layers) my whole bedroom floor so as not to upset my Chin when he was so bad and keep him in the kitchen at night as well as all day.

I've always had dogs, multi usually. My kids grew up with an Afghan Hound, not my choice at the time, only went to look at the pups with their dad. We had a tiny Yorkie then, both slept together. My kids are grown now so I think that I was born to always be a mother, get more pleasure from dogs then kids. My son wants a Whippet, fell in love with his friend's but his wife won't let him have one. He was going to give me one as a Xmas gift but I was warned (DIL) and passed on the Whippet! When those large breeds are cutting their molars, eat the furniture.
