| Yeah Or Nay To Missing Link Supplement? Hello everyone. I have read some posts where some of you swear by the missing link food supplement and others disagree with it, also stating that the vet is against using food supplements. What are your thoughts? I'm a new yorkie owner, my little Lexus is not quite 4 months yet. I've learned so much from these forum discussions, thanks to YT she is very happy on Chicken Soup puppy food now. Whether I should get this "missing link" stuff and mix it in is the question I have for you all? Thanks so much!

| I love the Missing Link. It is good for their skin and coat. Neither of mine have dry skin problems and their coats are shiny and grow quickly.

| I love it, too and so does my vet. We use the one with Glucosamine since Sissy has LP and it appears her "skipping" is lessening. I believe the package says it is not for puppies though - wait till a year old.

| layla has dry skin and the missing link seems to add to it so we go on and off with it... i originally got it to help her coat... but since i don't use it steadily i'm not sure whether or not it is working.. i'm just using it now to give her a little something extra now and then. |

| I tried missing link and Zoe's tummy didn't react well to it so nay for my vote. I still have a full bag at home.

| YAY all the way here! The Missing Link completely cleared up Hobbs' dandruff. It hurt their tummies at first, kinda like switching foods does, so you have to start them on it gradually. I started off giving them 1/4 tsp until it no longer upset their tummy (about 2 weeks) and then went up to 1/2 tsp and then up to 1 tsp which is what I give them now. I swear by the stuff. |

| Another here!! Yes, the graually starting it thing is very important. I have taken ground flaxseed myself in the past and found that if I had too much too soon, I'd get the more HORRIBLE gas, painful and OMG stinky too So I started my girlies on just a pinch a day, then after a week, bumped it up to two pinches, and so on. They now get 1/2 a teaspoon a day, which I think is all that's needed for their size (Luna's almost 3 lbs and Izzy is almost 6lbs) Their coats have improved a lot, especially Ms. Cotton Luna, she's much softer and less tangly. Both of them had dry flaky skin and no longer have that problem now either! I'm thrilled with it We also use the Plus, since Luna has LP, in hopes that it'll help strengthen up that area.

| Hi, I like missing link supplements. I don't think you need it unless you want though since you're feeding the Chicken Soup diet. Mari-Lou |

| I swear by it. My first experience was with my 4 year old poodle. She suffers from arthritis in her hind legs (worst in the winter). The vet put her on The Missing Link Vet Strength (contains stronger glucosamine) and truth be told..........she hasn't been in pain ever since. She has so much energy and plays all day long with the yorkie pup and cat. I started my yorkie baby at 12 weeks on it too. He loves it and it hasn't caused anything wrong. Since then, I started the cat of the feline version...........AND if they made a hamster version.........my lillie (the hamster) would be on it too!! LOL

| We LOVE Missing Link! I use the Glucosamine for my 2 labs and German Shepard. And the normal for Mojo. I have noticed a change in all of their coats! I love it! Mojo has a very sensitive tummy and he hasn't had any problems on it. BUT I do not give him the recommended dose. We started out w/ a small amount and we are now to about half of the recommended dosage and he seems to do fine w/ it - in fact, he likes it! Yummy! My vet recommended it too and she sells it in her office (three different kinds, but they are higher then through Pet Edge).

| Ahhhh, that explains the foul smell from my babies. I didn't start them out slowly. . .But the gas has receded. They have been having the ML for breakfast for about two weeks. Gin's itchy skin has disappeared. I imagine the hair is better, but I started it solely for the purpose of her scratching/itching.

| I just started on it a week ago. I started out with 1/8 tsp morn and eve and after three days went up to 1/4. Stools were getting loose so I went back down in the dosage for awhile until he gets better used to it. I only hear good things about it. Buddy's coat is very silky and we are letting it grow in so I am hoping it will help with growth and silkiness. I purchased mine from Kathryn here on this site. (plug for you Kathryn).
