i live in ny also and i start with the flea medicine in may and end it in
late sept..

I did apply Frontline on Jan. 1, 2007
It is still not really that cold here on Long Island (NY). I worry about the ticks. Never seen fleas, but this past year have found 4 dead ticks on the floor in the bedrooms and one live deer tick attached to my husbands stomach. YUCK!

My Vet has told me that ticks do and can live well into December here. Normally, I wouldn't apply Frontline Jan/Feb but with this weather, it may be all year for 2007.

In Southeast Kentucky we have had several frosts and freezes but today I found a flea on my lab puppy, so I treated them with advatage. My vet recommends advantage for my yorkie instead of frontline. They say Advantage is better for the smaller dogs.
