| Bailey not eating! Please Help Me!! Ok as some of ya'll may know I switched Bailey to Chicken Soup and I see that she is eating very little of it I don't know if I did the gradual thing to fast like I mixed his old food with the new for about 3 days (increasing the amounts appropriatly)then I went to CS all together was that too fast or maybe he just doesn't like it and its not for him......but get this he must like it because if I would go and pick some up with my hand and drop it on the floor he gobbles it up or if I feed it out of my hand he eats it but he won't eat it or he won't eat much at all if its just in he bowl with his other food Science Diet he would eat out of his bowl.....Any suggestions???

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Sounds like your baby is being spoiled. If he doesn't have any loose stool then your mix down was the right for him. Honestly dont' cate to him (JMO). Put his normal amount of food down but pay attention and see if he eats it. When the stinker gets hungry enough he will eat it. I had to do the same with Lex when I got him. He was on Bil Jac and he did the exact same thing. Once he realized there was no pussyfooting around he got down to business. Good luck!!

| Thanks! The new routine starting tomorrow is (as trainer advised us) to put the food down and wait 10 mins. if he didn't eat pick up the food then for lunch and dinner do the same thing and then after a while he will know that when I put the food down he better get is little tail to eating because it will be gone in a little while

| I'm afraid to do this with my baby because of the risk of hypoglycemia. But she's getting waaaay too fussy on us lately. Only 4 mos tho, so I'm torn. |

| When Lucy was little she would not eat. I had to throw the dry food one at a time into the base board, when it bounced off she would run over and eat it. She only wanted to eat if it was like hunting I guess. We had alot of eating problems for the first 6 months. I was told that a healthly dog will not starve itself. I think she might have. She would get week then we brought out the nutrical. Today she eats like all other dogs from a bowl with no problem. But I did anything at first to get her to eat. Also I never gave her any treats for the first 6 months. But she became a better eater once I gave her the treats. So I did what worked for us. I'm sure many people would not agree with what I did, but in the end it all ended up fine. And she is a great dog today and not spoiled rotten, just spoiled. |

| Put a spoon of warm or hot water. He/She will eat it. Chelsea also eats little and I start putting a spoon of hot water and she start eating. Warm food makes it more delicious just like human. |

| The vet told me their stomachs are so little that they get full quick. He said when they get hungry enough they will eat, and they are very picky. Bailey will eat soon, and he's probably eating behind your back when you are looking. Don't let the new baby pick up Bailey's old habits. LOL! good luck.

| Hi, hope your little one has ate something by now. I don't mean to scare you but I would pay close attention to make sure he eats something. He's small and you don't wanna take any risk of his sugar dropping. I have a pekingese thats gonna be 12 in April and let me just say he's beyond a pain with his food. This little guy refuses to eat just dry food. I was told that he would eat it after so long but everytime I tried he wouldn't eat the entire day. He would go days if I let him. He's as stubburn as can be. Gets in moods where he'll eat only from my hands. Anyways, your baby is tiny and not eating an entire day is dangerous. (sure you know that) I suggest if he won't eat the food your trying to give him, then try something else. Then discuss this with your vet. Good Luck to you!!
