Is it harmful if it gets into his eyes? It didn't happen yet but that was the reason I stopped using it. Any more pointers how to "tame" him in order to brush or spray his teeth ?

| Fingers towards the very back of the mouth will cause her to open out of reflex! that or a favorite treat!!!!! Does she like dehydrates chicken???? Hold it tight! Let her bite and spray as she tries to pry it out of your death grip! lol Thats how I started spraying Pixie with Oxy Fresh.... and now she will let me do anything... for her, the salmon oil one might be the best bet... they seem to love it... and contrary to belief, the "smell" of which there really is none, goes away in seconds... so your not kissing a fish mouth! lol She might like that! And you only have to lift the lips at first to get it going at first... rome was not built in a day... start slowly.

| Bad teeth can take 3 to 5 years off of a dogs life! Tackle the job!!!! They hate having their nails clipped don't they??? but we don't let them grow and curl under their feet do we??? Fighting with them now is so much better than putting them under for a dentel later!!!!! And the fighting is only a first impression reaction! What if someone walked up to you and started spraying sh*t in your mouth?? you'd flip out too! What if it was good for you?? But they could not communicate that to you?? What if they kept on doing it... don't you think you'd notice that it didn't kill you and that eventually you'd stop fighting, cause they were going to do it if you fought or not.... and it was easier if you did not fight it??? Thats how trimming their nails goes, clipping the hair on their butts, abd c'mom tell me what some of our dogs were thinking the first time someone squeezed their anal gland OK! Keep on it!!!! It very well could earn you 3 to 5 years longer with your dog!!!!! So what if you have to fight a bit right now... arent those years worth fighting for?????

And ay night.... if you had the gel.... swipe a gob across the k9's and front teeth and back if you can as they really collect tarter and turn in for the night! | If I want a room cleared of Yorkies in less than one second, all I have to do is pick up the bottle! Now, I have a hold of one first before I get the bottle. These little Yorkies are so smart. I use my sink 100 times a day, but they all know when I am going to give them a bath too! Anyway, I usually get help, but doing it myself, I have found that if I kneel on my knees, sitting my bum on my feet with my legs spread apart and place their butts next to me I have more control (they just back up more into my body) then I can give one squirt on each side. I also use a folded dry washcloth to cover their eyes like a blindfold in case a spray is misdirected. You really just have to pull the lips up and make contact with the teeth. Then they go crazy (just like after a bath) rubbing their face all over, but try it on yourself the mint is not that strong. I actually, bought the gel too and they say you can mix it with peanut butter, but haven't tried it since I feel the spray is best undiluted. It does seem to be getting easier as time goes by. |
