| What's the best adult food? Need to switch from puppy to adult! I haven't been on here in a really long time (We got a new filter put in at work so now this site is blocked ) Anyway my puppy is 10months old now and will soon need to start eating adult food.. i was wondering what people recommend? I was searching Royal Canine Mini Bites for Yorkshire Terriers. Any suggestions... right now she's on Science Diet small bites. My vet recommends Science Diet T/D Prescrition or Science Diet Oral Care. But i wanted to hear of other peoples recommendations. Any help would be great. She isin't a picky eater...and will eat anything i give her.

| if your pup is not over weight you can leave him on puppyfood for a bit longer. I like both of the other foods you mentioned. |

| Please No Science Diet Please research organic dog foods. Try to stay away from the many fillers a lot of the popular, advertised pet food companies use. Royal Canin has a lot of corn as filler. I suggest you try: Wellness Super5 Mix Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit Natural Balance Timberwolf Organics Innova and Innova Evo Type in a search engine: Natural Organic Dog Food They give us so much love, let's give them the best.

| I am also feeding my yorkie Science Diet small bites. Isn't it supposed to be a good brand of dog food since all veterinarians recommend it? |

| Science Diet Vets get offered a lot of incentives to push Science Diet because this company makes the most popular "special" diet food available only at the vet's office. Learn about food, by-products, fillers, too much cheap processed grains, artificial colors and flavors, etc. Just go to the manufacturers' sites and look at the ingredients. You'll want natural, organic, nutrient-dense foods, human-grade. Don't rely on PetSmart or PetCo (although, PetCo does carry Natural Balance), and especially not a grocery store or supermarket. Shop at the local pet supply store, even easier is shopping on line.
