The reason I did not get Leo fixed when he was a baby was I heard that if you neutered before there bones were fully developed it may cause a difference in the length of their bones. This came out in a agilty forum. So I emailed an agilty vet who had written a book(s) and I was told it is true. I decided that I would wait since Leo is never outside without me. Then I was let go at work (downsizing) Stephanie, Abby the Dorky Last edited by Stephanie K; 11-10-2006 at 06:31 AM.

Not yet... I had wanted to start a small breeding program. I felt like sense there was a slim to none chance that I could have another child, I could at least raise Yorkies. But, after becoming semi-educated about the pro's/con's of breeding on this forum, I realize that I probably shouldn't. Mostly because I think I would be doing the breed a disservice, and secondly because of the cost.

She was wobbly the next day, and 2 days later she was running around & eating. Our vet glued her incision so we never had to go back to have stitches out, she hardly even has a scar now. Your baby will be fine Michele & Bailey | |

Jaden is neutered, and is as healthy as can be! All of my pets have always been neutered or spayed if they weren't already neutered or spayed when I got them. Since I'm not a breeder I think it is worth it to have it done just for my little ones health. You can avoid so many health problems by one small surgery...I've never regretted doing it to any animal that I've owned.

Looks like I was too late to vote. One of mine will get neutered soon, and the other one spayed when she's old enough. I'd thought about breeding them. But after seeing 3 females die after birthing in less than 2 weeks time on the board....sure changed my mind. I'm not willing to make that risk, and will leave it to the folks that are willing to risk it.
