i totally agree with just letting him go and when he gets hungry enough he'll eat! i had this problem with coco too so i switched him from royal canin to bil jac and he really likes it. it's lighter than royal canin and easier for him to chew maybe you should try it. buy it at petsmart and keep your reciept so that if your dog doesn't like it you can return the uneaten food. that's what i did with the royal canin. i didn't know that you can return opened dog food until the clerk told me about it. i think it's great especially in situations like this. hope this helps!

Gucci is a picky eater also. I have change her food a couple of times. The breeder was feeding her Eukanooba. She wasnt eating it, so i mixed with wet eukanuba. She still wouldnt eat it. The vet told me to try some baby food and also boil chicken and rice. She ate that. I switch to Science diet, she ate it at the beginning and then wouldnt. So change it again to Nutro MAx. She was eating it but I think she was allergic to it. So now she is eating California Nature. ( i think that is the name). Anyhow, im thinking to switch it again to Ivanova wich I heard is pretty good. Good luck feeing your pup. I guess Yorkie are very finicky.

| Stitches - to answer your question, yes I have fed him the same since I've gotten him. I free feed him. He eats when he's hungry. He's actually eating right now before bed. When he gets up he goes #2 and then eats again in the afternoon and goes #2 again at night. He keeps a predictable schedule with eating even though I have the food out all day and night.

Lickthestar, Thank you so much. What you said in your last paragraph hit the nail on the head. Now all I have to do is get Miss Maggie back on the dog food track. She is going to be ONE HAPPY CAMPER for a few days. In the long run, we will both be happier. Thanks again.

food Hi. Merrick is very rich. The vet I went to recommended it or Hills. He says 50 % dry & 50 % wet w/ veggies in order to keep the acid/base balance correct in the body. He has a Yorkie too (2 months older that mine). He just saw her this morning, and told me that the dogs live longer, and heathier w/out problems this way. He asked me to keep her on vitamins until she is a year old, he prescribed them. I chose Merrick as it is the only canned food with buffalo. Since Yorkies were developed on Beef & Buffalo, I felt the historical meat would be best for her. I add in the missing link, and whole yogurt, goat milk, etc. every few days. The dry food is (the other 50%) is Royal Canin small puppy. I also add in some pumpkin as well.... I figure if she wasn't being fed right, she wouldn't get well, and her coat is growing at a really high rate, about a 1/2 inch in 2 weeks. So, only offering what I am doing. ps, We feed the St. Bernard similar to this, and every one who sees him & touches his coat can't believe it- they say is is like cashmere- and I agree it is really soft. His other 50% is Nutro. I hope this helps you folks.
