Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() We started with Royal Canin puppy and then went to Nutro Lamb & Rice to get Magic off of chicken products. But last week the vet switched Magic to a vet diet called DCO for stomach issues (colitis - sp??) and so far so good....but Magic is no longer is allowed any treats or people food at all. Sailor is so easy....she eats whatever Magic is on and eats well!! Nutro is not on the best food list, but at the time our vet said what others have said.....some food is better than no food....so we stayed with Nutro for about a year.

| ![]() I was told by a vets wife that they back Science Diet because they pay for some of their schooling. I do not know how true that is but I can't see any reason for her to lie to me. I research alot before I got my last baby and decided on Innova. The vet always made the coment that she had never seen such a strong little guy. |

| ![]() I fed Max science diet small bites because it was vet recommended and I didn't know better. Now I feed my dogs Natural Balance and they love it. Although a vet told me I should have Alphy on small dog food and Abby on big dog food??? I didn't notice that NB separates the two. Anyone? I also just notice that they came out with a RAW formula which I might try. Has anyone heard of MMillenia? My friend just put his Lab on it but I'm not sure it's a good one.

| ![]() A switch is a good idea. It won't be hard to find a food better than Pedigree. All of the above mentioned are good. The only questionable one is Purina Pro Plan, make sure you get the Select formula which doesn't have any corn or by products in it. Science Diet isn't a horrible food, but there are better ones out there - just looking at the ingredients, there are no by-products, but it does have corn. I feed Nutro Natural Ultra, but also like the ingredients in Chicken Lover's Soup, but it's not available here locally. |

| ![]() Gracie has decided to go on a food strike for the last two days. She used to like the Merricks canned, but not now. I have tried every flavor of Merricks, Natural Balance, Iams,...The only thing she will sort of eat is ProPlan Puppy formula, canned. And that is with a lot of doctoring. My vet suggested ProPlan. For now I have decided to use the ProPlan canned, and mix in bits of the Chicken Soup and Royal Canin dry, and give her nothing else other than different Iams sauces and an occassional tid bit of canned cat food or cheese (she will eat that) to give her variety. I'm thinking I might have changed her food one too many times? I'm supplementing with NutriCal too. I have tried mixing in scrambled eggs, cooked meat etc., she just turns her nose up at that. She is fine otherwise, drinking, playing, peeing and pooping. I hope she gets over this phase soon!
