| Allergy Update & What do You think about this meal plan????? Well, after shaving poor Ginger's hair off this week (she'd already removed much of it herself) I FINALLY got the results of her allergy test. She is allergic to: chicken, lamb, beef, pork, turkey, salmon, duck, venison, greenbean, soybean, and wheat So, I stopped in at this great little dog food store in our neighborhood, and was given samples for a couple of food options that have white fish as a protein source. However, I am contemplating feeding her whole foods on my own, so I can closely monitor the ingredients. Any issues with any of the following foods that anyone is aware of: broccoli, carrots, yams (cooked), oatmeal, hard boiled egg, peaches, brown rice, and of course, white fish I was considering making up a weeks worth of food at a time. Don't think it'll be more expensive the the dog food, and I can more closely monitor the ingredients that way. Or, do you think it would be more nutritious to stick to the dog food? Any and all opinions welcome. I've attached a photo of her in her new "lion hair cut" eating her birthday cake (last wheat she'll ever have) the night before I got the test results.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Wow that's hard to feed then. I was thinking of getting Cali allergy tested, is it done by blood work?

It'll be hard, but at least now I know what we have to do. Before it was hit or miss, just trying to guess, is this food okay? what about this one? Good luck is you decide to go. (It cost us $236, so be prepared for the expense)

| I see from the photo that ginger is not a puppy. So had she been eating all these foods and over time she developed an allergy to all those things? The reason I ask is because my Jack has started itching just under his chin, cheek area and behind the ears for the past 6 weeks. When I look at the area I see nothing.I was wondering if he has developed some allergy to his food or maybe mold because it's been raining alot here lately. Thanks |

If you suspect your dog might have allergies to food, I'd say get him tested. It was the best $236 I've ever spent. I NEVER would have naturally eliminated all those foods. I'm so excited knowing that I can now make food choices that'll make her healthier. I've been doing research and am returning to the feed store again today. I've gotta say though, Ginger sure enjoyed last nights dinner (and this mornings breakfast) of steamed tilapia, brown rice and broccoli. That'll work for now anyway.
