I gotta tell you, I think Ginger's allergies have gotten worse. She just turned two on August 30. Last spring/summer (not quite one) she started to chew and itch. Vet figured it was seasonal allergies because of the time of year and we began dosing her with benedryl and or medrol depending on severity of symptoms. Her skin is often red, and she develops crusty pimply things on her chin. On my own I tried several different foods, but nothing seemed to make a difference. So we kept dosing her with the benedryl
If you suspect your dog might have allergies to food, I'd say get him tested. It was the best $236 I've ever spent. I NEVER would have naturally eliminated all those foods. I'm so excited knowing that I can now make food choices that'll make her healthier.
I've been doing research and am returning to the feed store again today. I've gotta say though, Ginger sure enjoyed last nights dinner (and this mornings breakfast) of steamed tilapia, brown rice and broccoli. That'll work for now anyway.
