Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | it might be reverse sneezing but i'm not sure you might want to have your vet check it out if your puppy isn't able to breath at all i would take him in right away but if it goes away and he is fine it could be the sneezing thing

| Moms yorkie did something similar. I can't remember what the vet said it was, but I do remember for a weekend Baby had a breathing machine. She mainly only does it when she gets excited.

| Well, both of my yorkies do that, but only when they are excited! I asked my vet if it was normal and he said it is very normal they are just too excited when they see us come home! |

| Both my girls were doing this & I read about the reverse sneezing. Had the vet check them out also. I finally put a humidifer in the bedroom at night. They haven't done it since. They breath great all day long. |

| My dogs do it every day when I get home from work --- I have had four dogs that do this. They get excited and act like they are having a spasmatic asthsma attack. It is frightening when you first see it and don't know what it is. However - it is "reverse sneezing" like some people mentioned. It lasts 30 seconds to a minute and then goes away. It is perfectly harmless. You'll get used to this and so will your dog. Don't worry about it!!!! Carol Jean |

| Someone posted on here that if you put your hand over their nose they'll stop snorting. I've gotten where when Reuger starts I'll put my hand over his nose and the snorting quits. Thought you might want to try this!

| My Chester used to do that and I would just pet him and calm him down. It usually doesn't last very long. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Both my girls do it - really bad sometimes...when I come home too - I gently hold their nostrils closed and release my fingers ever few seconds - What you want them to do is take a breath thru their mouth do a search on REVERSE SNEEZING and you'll find lots of info |

When we go outside and he sees other pups that we know he get's excited and he makes a snorting noise like a piggy. But when we are in the house he dosent do it only when he's excited and outside what is this
