| Urine Sample I have to take a urine sample when Rosie uses the bathroom, but I do not know how to do this. She gets distracted very easily, so if I put something underneath her, she will stop and walk away. Any suggestions? |

| I was told to bring a urine sample to the vet since my puppy was urinating so frequently, but I didn't do very well. I ended up just spooning some off the top of the wee wee pad before it soaked in, but when they tested it, it was contaminated. You really need a clean sample. Anyway, they catheterized (sp?) him and that wasn't pleasant, although I think it was worse for me. If I had to do it again, I would wait for him to pee, then lift him up and while it was in progress hold a container underneath. I don't know if it would work, but that was my thought. Also, the vet said the catheter doesn't hurt them but I wouldn't want him (or me) to go through that again.

| I almost had to do this too. Here are a couple ideas we came up with on how to get that darn pee: -Put saran wrap on the top of the pad, then put it in one of those pad "frames" from Petsmart -Put the pad in a pan until she gets used to peeing there, and then take the pad away, leaving the pan to pee in -Hold a cup under that part of her at other times so that she'll let you do it while she's peeing. GOOD LUCK! |

| Hey I just did this two days ago. I turned the pee pad upside down and had her piddle on the plastic side. After she piddleed on it I used a syringe and sucked the urine up and put it into a little jar. It worked great.

| The reason we think she might have a bladder infection is because she pees all over the house. She used to use the pee pad before getting spayed and now she doesn't use the pee pad. I like the ideas about the pee pad, but it would only work if she used them. She gets too distracted for me to lift her in the middle of using the bathroom or put something under her while she is peeing. She will definetly stop if I do this. When I took her out a minute ago, she was about to poop but stopped because she heard the bag I had in my hand. My dog really has ADD. I might have to try pushing her bladder. I really don't want to take her in for them to do this, but that might be the only way. |
