| Is this Normal? Has there always been so many health problems with Yorkies, Or is it breeders breeding less than perfect dogs? I've been reading so many health issues on them. Liver stunts, enlarged hearts, allergies. It seems as expensive as they are, one shouldn't have to worry about there health in the 1st few years. I understand as anything will age health issues come with it, but people getting puppies & finding out all the health problems so early. IS THIS NORMAL? |

| I don't know if it's normal or not, but I think it's sad too. That is why I take my babies not only for their annuals, but also for a 6 month wellness exam, complete with physical and blood work. I want to be able to catch anything before it becomes a health issue. I also take them or at least call for anything I feel is unusual. I've been truly blessed with healthy adults and babies (and caring Vets).

| My vet recommends a 6month wellness exam, with blood work. I'm going to do this also. Yorkie3, your babies are beautiful. |

| Even with very good breeders , no ones can predict if a dog will be healthy during all his or her life . |

| i think a lot depends on the care of the dog, ie food, vet visits and so on
