| Question about marking etc Hi, I recently aquired my 3 you old unneutered male. I got him Sat. My question is once he is neutered when he marks will it still stink? or will it smell more like urine--you know less "manly"--ugh Anyone?

| Reuger started marking for a while and I noticed that it was a little darker than urine and smelled like urine. It was nothing like when a tom cat marks. I put belly bands on Reuger for a while and now he's quit marking. (My neighbor had her female dog go into heat and Reuger went NUTS for a few weeks. He's back to his old self again! Thank goodness!!!) I hope this helps.

| I don't think neutering will have an affect on the way the urine smells. Foul smelling urine is an indication of a urinary tract infection, bladder stones etc. I think I would collect a urine sample to be analyzed. |

| I guess I worded that wrong. The urine doesn'[t smell foul--it's more his smell. He gets wet under there and it makes his hair wet. I guess that is what I am smelling. It kinda reminds me of a male goat. I have been wiping him with a wet papertowel and that seems to help. We are waiting on belly bands. That will help with the wet hair problem. His hair is so long it can't help but get in the way even though his belly hair is cut short. It looks like his penal area could use a trim too.

| If you give him what they call a hygienic shave on this stomach and private area that will definitely help with the smell so it isn't clinging to his hair. |
