I am glad that Tia is getting stronger by the minute I always check in with this thread to see how joker and tia are progressing they both seem to be doing so well and are a credit to you both, take care we are rooting for you. Julie

Well I guess that is good news then because she doesn't act sick at all. She's still quite active.
I've stopped the 3am feedings to try and make her eat on her own. I feel bad, but I do get to sleep thru the night. I've been doing this a few days now. Sometimes she eats...sometimes she don't. I guess all I can do is keep doing what I've been doing and pray for the best!!!!

Well Tia's dad's owner met Tia today and said I should give her the amoxicilan because of her aspirating and raspy sounds. So I am going to give it to her. She suggested 1/2 cc, twice per day. She said it will not hurt her, even if she didn't need it. So i'd rather be safe than sorry. I haven't taken to her the vet yet, just because I don't know if I fully trust mine. I just haven't decided yet. I'll think about it.

The amoxicil that I have has not been used and have been refridgerated. Today is day 14 from the date it was mixed. I'm still going to use it. Has anyone else went past day 14 with it?
Can I order it online anywhere??? I just can't see paying a huge vet bill just to get the prescription. Any ideas???

She is just too cute! You are doing such a great job with her. I just love all the pictures she is like a little doe the size of a mouse!

I am praying that she will start eating on her own and that she will catch up quickly to the rest in the litter.

Well today I sat down on the floor with a handful of hard puppy food, was actually thinking I'd let Tia smell it and do her normal playing with it, and then just give it to her mom. But to my surprise...................... she jumped on my lap and put one in her mouth , as a waited for her to spit it out....she swallowed it!!!!! It created quite the gagging attack but she went right in for another one.....this time mouthing it more and then swallowing it! Then, in she went for another, and another! By the 8th piece she was swallowing them like nothing almost!! YAY!

She stopped at 8, but I'm so happy with that! Well after that, i'm not bottle feeding her supper tonight. I refreshed her formula, gave her freash water and fresh hard food. She's going to be on her own tonight until morning! I'm so proud of her!!!!!:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

But she wanted her bottle! I fed her some and gave her some in her little bowl. She still loves that bottle! Of course I have a hard time not giving it to her :)

Now that is wonderful news. Been waiting to here that for a couple weeks.
Tia will really flourish now. SHe will begin to fill out, maybe not up, but out! All the bones you have had to worry about will begin disappear and you will see a different puppy in look. Healthy and even more robust in just a few short days...........if you can handle that!:eek:

She might suffer from a little constipation ( not used to that solid food!)......so I would just make sure she has plenty of fluids available. Mostly water with her in her area..............and save special feedings a couple times a day with formula with you at least for a short time (week or more) until you know she is eating dry regularly. Nutracal can cause a bit of runny stool so keeping that in her formula should keep her Bowel movements regular.:thumbup:

Mr Joker still occasionally gets a milkshake ( about once a wk), even now. Why? Just because...........lol. He remembers it and drinks it like it is the best thing since the invention of electricity. It makes him happy!!!! He weighs 1 lb 12 ozs today at over 4 months of age. Hes gained a ton of weight since eating solid foods. He hasnt had formula "milkshake" for about a week, but he gets a piece of cooked chicken breast meat regularly ( about 3 times a week)
We are still working on consistent potty training outside but he does pretty darn good.
Good news of Tia's progress has made my day.
