Tia, you are growing up to be as beautiful as your Mommy. I love the pic of the 2 of them. You should be so proud of her and of yourself, Breny. You pulled off a miracle when you saved your precious Tia. And I can't believe how hard she fought to survive. Great job:thumbup: . |

4 Attachment(s) Well ! I came home tonight and weighed Tia on my puppy scale (she still fits!) and WOW! She weighs 4 lbs 2 oz. She ended up out weighing her brother who weighs 3 lbs 8 oz! Amazing. I just hope anyone reading this that has a cleft puppy born to them that they will not think its the end, but think of it as a beginning :) Tia is living proof! So I took some pics of her tonight and wanted to share with you my baby :) Thanks for all your support! |
1 Attachment(s) Here is one of her and her mama I took last night :) |
Oh my goodness. I just "tried" to go back and re-read from the beginning for the 1st time and I couldn't ! I'm holding back crying! It brought back oh so many memories and then seeing her picture back then. Wow it was a long road! |
that is unbelievable that she has grown so much and you'd never tell anythign was wrong with her just looking at her. She is cute. |
Hi, I'm fairly new to YT, but caught this thread this morning and couldn't tear myself away! I too have a special baby. That's him by the soda can, I would send more pics but can't reduce them on my computer. Rocky was one of six, 4 were "normal" size and two were very very tiny. Unfortunately, I lost the little girl I called "Thumbalina" when she was 6 weeks old, she just couldn't seem to get enuf nutrition to thrive, But ole "Pocket Rocket" was a go getter. I too was up every hour on the hour for 2-3 months giving dextrose and IV fluids under the skin to keep him hydrated. What a job. Feeding him with syringes etc. so I really felt like I knew exactly what you went thru. Today he is 7 months 1 week old and weighs a whopping 2 lbs, 3 ozs. Probably not going to get much bigger, but that's ok cause like TIA he's a ball of energy. I was luckier than you tho, cause I work in a vets office so I was able to take him with me every day which was a big help. To this day he has his little house he sleeps in on my bed, and pity the poor soul who goes near the door of his house when he is in it, he snarls, growls and barks like a pitt bull. That's his castle and nobody better come near. LOL He is still skinny, but guess he will always be that way, as long as he is healthy I can live with it!:) I am so glad the two of you and your babies are doing so well, and am proud to be a member of the small community of people who really care about their puppies. I have been breeding yorkies for a long time and this is the first time I ever got tinies and hope it doesn't happen again but if it does, I'll do the same thing all over again just like you. ( Tho I swore I would never do it again) just like you!;) Tia is a little doll, wish I could post a pic of Rocky for you all. Thanks again for the inspirational story and love the happy ending! |
3 Attachment(s) What a lovely story ! My male Casper is very skinny too and weighs 4lbs - he never has put the weight on since I bought him - I think some are just like that, but they really do have amazing personalities, don't they ! pic 1 Casper pic 2 Casper smiling "nice smiles" as he continually does ! (with his daddy) pic 3 My three babies, Tara, Casper and Tammy :D Debra x x x |
Wow what an amazing story. You guys are inspiring people I hope I have to never go through it but if I do, I know I can look to you guys for the inspiration. The best part of this is the babies that are there to give you back the love you gave them... By the way he is a cutey. |
More Tia Pics! 4 Attachment(s) Just wanted to update with some pictures of Tia :) She's doing great!!!! |
She is really cute... She looks good in PINK.. |
OMG Breny I was just reading this whole thread.......all 20 pages. I was getting ready to do my house work and figured I'd get on YT for a minute (I addicted) and came accross this thread. I could not pull myself away. My Mother raises Chihuahuas and has had 2 or 3 cleft pups. One of them was real bad the whole roof of its mouth was open. The vet would not do surgery till it was at least one pound. I took the pup home with me and had to get a real long nipple bottle and prity much stick it down this puppys throat! But after 7 months the pup was ready for surgery. It did great and surgery was a success. About 3 months after the surgery the pup was eating on his own and drinking normally. I didn't want to part with him as I was soooooo attached but at a fair one day I ment a little boy who was 5 years old and had the same thing. He (the little boy) was getting ready to have another operation the next week and was real sarred. He got so attached to my tyson that I ended up giving him to the boy. It has been 3 years now and both are doing GREAT. The mother will send pics every once in a while. It just brought back ss many memories. You are such a wonderful person to help TIA. The Lord sure did give you a big heart and tons of strenght to care for this pup! Congrats to you on your success storie. You sure do have something to brag about. |
OMG, this is such a wonderful story to tell . . you are indeed a great MOM for what you have gone through  Tia is adorable and looking at her recent pictures you cannot even know what she went through when she was little. I hope she will be at the Fair so I can give her a kiss :animal-pa |
