				 | I feed Innova EVO mixed with Innova Small Bite Adult...50/50 mix dry kibble and also feed Innova canned and Merrick canned when I can find it They gobble it all up. I supplement with the Missing Link and SynoviCre for Jolene.

				 | is Buddy the only one with Rice/Potato intolerance? I love this thread - thanks for starting it! As I've learned more about all the food it is so disheartening!! Buddy has a horribly sensitive stomach and he's just finished another round of metronidazole. He's allergic to : rice (brown and white) potatoes (sweet, regular) and I don't want him having corn I've had him on Nature's Variety Raw Instinct, which is similar to the EVO here - has a probiotic coating etc. He does basically well on it, but still has gas problems, and had some diarrhea again tonight after a week of solid. I'm at wits end. I wanted to try one of the Prescription Diets - like the Eukanuba Low Residue, but all of those diets contain crap ingredients! Corn meal, chicken by-products as the first ingredient - the main ingredients are crap. And everything contains either rice or potato - the Raw Instinct does not have either (the EVO has potato). When Buddy eats potato or rice it comes out the other end in Mucous and starts him off on the diarrhea train. Sooo...if he continues to have diarrhea again I just don't know what I'll do. I guess I'll have to order a copy of that "Small Animal Clinical Nutrition" and teach myself what to do! My vet is so unhelpful - he just seems to be overwhelmed by Buddy's intolerance and there is nothing that he can offer. So here I go again! I'm really happy to see everyone's results with the various foods - I guess it's just up to me to see what Budster can tolerate...sigh. |

				 | I have used Chicken Soup, Natures Recipe and even Science Diet...and I have to say that both of my dogs LOVE Merricks.... Having said that, it is a recent switch for us...and both are very very gassy still and I am hoping that will improve with time..

I'm just now reading this thread, but I noticed that the first post mentioned that Merrick's is 81% moisture. That might be why the poop is softer and stinkier. 8% protein seems kind of low, too. Still researching...

				 | When I got Little Bit, he was on the Purina Pro Puppy and the vet said to leave him on it but after reading all the problems people seem to be having with corn, I have purchased the Canidae and am slowly switching her over. She actually seems to like the Pro Puppy better but I have had a Yorkie in the past that scratched quite a lot and if I can keep that from starting, I surely will. Aside from the dog being miserable, it is annoying to her human family. My problem is that I had to order the Canidae (so I ordered a 40# bag for a 2# dog). Are others able to buy their Canidae locally? I can share this bag with my daughter's Yorkie but I would prefer to just go buy a 5# bag every now & then if possible. |

I think that post was for the WET canned merricks . i feed the dry. I'm telling you. Thier poops look and smell like I have been feeding them OLD ROY. PLus all those little whole veggies you see in the dry food....They come out WHOLE and my dogs don't even digest them Just want to say this is happening with ALL my dogs here .. not just one, so I KNOW it's the food

				 | I went through TON of differnt foods. Diesel was so picky it wasn't even funny. I tried a lot of different Merrick flavors and no luck. I also tried Chicken Soup with no luck. I went though a few more and even tried the cheaper brands like Purina and Pedigree. Finally I got Nutro Natural chicken meal, rice and oatmeal. He loves it. I got it because it was low in protein and thank goodness he likes it. So thats what we use here. Michelle |

| My furkids Donating Member | Sadie has been a picky eater since day one....One of the foods I tried her on was Merrick (wet) with her kibbles...she ate this for a very short time..I liked how it had all human grade products in it but then again....I wasn't the one eating it! I had her on Wellness for about 8 months, then she wouldn't eat that anymore. I now have her on Innova...she seems to like this one...Maybe once her new fursister comes home(2 MORE DAYS!!!) she will eat better thinking Lillie (new furbabies name) will get her food....Little does she know Lillie will have her own special puppy food! shhhh...don't tell Sadie
