I don't know either..I just started my lil 16 week old shih tzu on greenies and it takes her about 4 days to finish one little one. Now I'm worried, what's so horrible about greenies?? Thanks!

				   | I found an article about Freshies: Safety Test Results for Freshies Also, it looks like Freshies are made by a different company than Greenies.

there is all kinds of stuff wrong with greenies, they kill your dog, they dont digest, at all. and they can swell in your dogs throat and stomach, and block the poop . bad news , my dog loved them, I threw them in the garbage, after seeing a video of a stomach of a dog dead from greenies, no way not worth it.

I was giving my terrier mix greenies until a friend told me to google 'greenies' and I immediately threw them out. Apparently the compound they use in them becomes very sticky when chewed/wet and can become stuck in the intestine...sometimes having to be surgically removed if caught on time. Sadly, many dogs were lost before the owners realized the problem. Many people say that if the greenie is small enough that it's safe, but I don't take the risk.

If you are feeding any of your doggies greenies, Please stop. My mom told me about the warnings she had seen on tv about them. I had always gave my 10 month Lhasa Apso greenies since day 1 of getting her, she loved them. When My mom told me this, I didnt stop cause I figured she will be ok.... My biggest mistake. Chloe died at 10 months old from greenies. They got stuck in her intestines and caused a blockage that end of making her bleed internally. She died. There was nothing the vet could do. She Please.... No Greenies!!!!!

That "article" is press release from the company that makes Freshies, so I would take it with a grain of salt. I don't think I would risk it.
