| Weeping eyes..... Hello my 9 month old Yorkie has alot of gunk in the corner of his eyes. It drys up and gets crusty. There have been times when I have seen one of his eyes with alot of; what I will call tears; liquid in his eyes so I just took a tissue and wiped it away. But this is a constant thing with him, I have never had this problem with my other yorkie. If anyone can please let me know why this happens and if there is anything I can do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. tpitcher

| try wiping the eyes with a warm damp cloth once in a while, then comb out the crust, it will be soft... also maybe trim the hairs near the eyes, it will help.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | cleaning his eyes everyday will prevent the crusties from building up. if the crusties do build up soak them with warm water and then use a flea comb to get them out. flea combs have teeth that are really close together and it helps to get the gunk out. the reason he is getting the gunk might be from allergies. i know another yorkie that gets real bad allergies at this time of the year and she gets crusty eyes from it. does your yorkie have this all the time or sparatically? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My pom had a problem with one eye tearing real bad and they probed her tear duct because it was plugged. She is fine now, just gets the typical eye gunk that I wipe out daily.
