| Brewers yeast and garlic help I searched to try to find the answer to this, but couldn't. I read on some of the posts that brewers yeast with garlic pills help repel fleas and is relatively cheap.. which is great considering I have four animals and spend about 730.00 on flea meds per year and I want to have a baby so I just cant afford that anymore. I have two questions that I hope someone can help me with. 1. Does it also work on repelling fleas off of cats? 2. How long does it take to work? Chloes flea problem is really bad right now, so should I get the brewers yeast with garlic and hope that it repels them within a few hours.. or buy a tube of advantage today for her? I've only seen a couple of fleas on my dogs.. and just a little flea dirt on my cats.. but shes covered and I don't know why. Thanks in advance for any advice.

| I dont think the brewers yeast gets rid of fleas when they already have them I think it just repels them. I would get some advantage to get rid of the fleas then try the brewers yeast

| You can try to search for holistic treatments for flea/ticks. Remember, it is not only the dog that needs to be treated...make sure the enviroment is always flea/tick free! I do think, however, that you can save money on that bill by using the minimum amount on each dog ********************* Make your dog taste bad to fleas Fleas particularly dislike the flavor of garlic and yeast (nutritional or brewer's yeast). Mix some garlic and yeast with your pet's food. This can render their blood unpalatable to fleas. Fleas are repelled by citrus Organic Grapefruit Essential Oil Calms. Deodorizes. Repels insects especially fleas. Provides a Clarifying and tonic effect on the skin and tissues. Believed to stimulate Hair growth. Useful in small amounts for dogs that have an imbalanced sebum production resulting in skin problems http://www.flea-and-tick.com/
