Is this treat OK? I came across this website: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/R...g.htm#MilkBone, which has alot of good recipes for homemade dog treats. I want to make the Vegetarian Dog Biscuits for my furbaby. Are all the ingredients OK for Yorkies to eat? I am concerned about giving him milk powder. I guess I can always omint that ingredient, right? Also, I will probably add apples instead of carrots because he loves apples.

I don't know about the milk powder but that is a great recipe! Maybe you could cut down the recipe? I've made mine treats before and they loved them!

And - remember that "apples" have a lot more moisture than carrots when you make these treats......just in case - you don't want them too soggy. I don't think I'd worry about the milk powder. I have noticed that "milk" (probably milk powder) is an ingredient in a lot of dog treats. And - though I don't give my dogs "milk" to drink, they do get some in many of the leftovers and other people food they eat....and it has never bothered them. Carol Jean

I made the treats. I didn't put milk powder because I was a little concerned about giving him milk and I didn't have it at hand either. I added the apples and it was a little soggy so I just added a bit more flour. He loves them.
