| pulling baby teeth Hi this is my first post! I have a 5 month old boy and most of his baby teeth have fallen out except the 4 canines. The adult ones are coming in beside them and I wiggle them everyday but they don't seem to be coming out. My vet said he'd pull them at the time I get him neutered (less times anesthesia and such) but then I learned they were charging $230 for neutering. I'm eligible for free spay/neuter from the city b/c I'm a college student, but I'm not sure if they'll do tooth extractions. My questions are: 1) for any of you that had your baby's teeth pulled at a different time than the spay/neuter, how much does it cost? 2) are they able to pull baby teeth without general anesthesia? (Im looking for safer alternatives, local anesthesia etc.) if the city (Richmod SPCA) won't pull his teeth at the same time as neuter I'll have to find a vet to do it. But I really want to avoid having him under 2 times. However cost is also an issue and free neuter vs. $230 is a big deal. The vet is great for everything else but I think he's overcharging for this! |

| No they have to be under anesthia when they have the teeth pulled so I would have it done at the neuter.

| I just got my little 8 month old Zoey spayed and got her baby teeth removed for $326. It would be good to get it over with and have everything done while he is asleep one time only.

| Usually our vet charges $30 a tooth to be pulled if done seperatly. But because I had them do it while she was being spayed, they charged me $90 to pull all eight that needed to come out. I got lucky for the deal because they were not loose at all. Some vets charge, some may not, all though it seems like most do. If the teeth are really loose, my vet doesn't charge anything to pull them out. I would ask when you call to make the appointments and get an estimate before you have them do anything. They were calling me through out Emma's spay to ask if I wanted them to do various things to her while she was under. I thought it was kinda cool that they did that. p.s. That is about the price that most people here have quoted for a spay/neuter.
