Ok so I have a question for all of you Merrick food buyers. Since I have learned from coming here that RC is just so-so food for my baby I want to try Merrick but am confused. Currently Bailey only eats dry food. So if I give him the Merrick dry do I also mix the Merrick wet with it or give it to him sperately? I'm so confused. Here I was thinking I was doing the right thing all along with his food and then find out I've been only giving him so-so food for the last year. Poor guy!

I give merrick wet and dry but you don't have to give wet if you don't want. I just do because Cappi likes it, but it's better for their teeth to eat dry. So I give her a little of both. I received my first Merrick order yesterday and she absolutely LOVES the dry potpie one! And she doesn't normally like dry food. It's great!

AFter reading this thread I am excited to have Tiger try some wet Merrick dog food. I plan to mix it with his Innova dry kibble puppy food, just so he has lots of variety. Do you think that is okay? He eats twice a day now but in the evenings he sits with us so I try to give him a veggie like carrots. Last night he tried boiled asparagus and just loved it . . . so I saved a few more sticks to give it to him in the next 2 days

I feed the dry food for breakfast and lunch and keep it down at all times for Bogey and Gabe. For dinner I give them the Merrick's wet food along with some rice that has been cooked in 1/2 water and 1/2 chicken broth. Sometimes I add peas to the rice. They don't like their food mixed so the rice is on one portion of the plate while the canned food is on the other.

Don't worry. It's okay!

I leave dry food out all day for Baby. Then at night I give her a little wet food because she loves it. Sometimes I mix a little dry in there so she has something to crunch on. It all depends how much I notice that she ate of the dry.

Gota say I love Merricks!!
I went to Petco today and was bummed mine didn't have Bully Sticks in the bar or Salmon oil. What a rip. But when I took Trixie for her shot I went to Pet Food Depot and they have Merricks wet so I got a couple for Trix. I put it right on her dry and went to my folks house for dinner. When I came home WOW - All her food was eaten even the dry she has been avoiding!! I am gona call around and see who carries their dry to get some. My little 2lb girl SCARFED DOWN the food. I even gave her the CowboyCookout one with the big chunks and she ate it all. I can't wait to try the pot pie one everyone raves about!!

So glad your furbaby likes it!! I thought Baby liked Chicken Soup. Well, she doesn't scarf that like she does the Merrick's. My mom is watching Baby for two days and I gave her CS because I didn't have any Merrick's left. My mom said she ate it all, but she didn't eat it at once. She scarfs the Merrick's and always wants more. I think I found myself a keeper!!

I just ordered some of the Merricks from the petfoodsdirect link... Okay, so I ordered more than that. I ordered a bunch of stuff for Frank, the dog I already have...and ordered the puppy plate dry and canned for the new puppy that is not here yet...

Thank you all for your posts. I purchased 4 dry bags and 2 cases of canned Merricks on petfooddirect.com because of their huge sale. I am waiting for it to be shipped and in the meantime I went to Pet Pro's and they had a sample of the canned and dray food and Bailey went nuts. I think he ate too much tho because he threw up immediatly. This is probably due to the change in food also but he surely likes it.

I feed Vivi Merrick's and she loves it...I have tried all of the high end/quality foods and this is the only one that she will eat. It really looks like people food,too. She loves the chicken pie one the best.
