				   | Hi everybody! I went today to a breeder, she told me that there is a dog insuranse, where you pay 100 dollars and then 20 dollars a month and it covers everything including x-rays etc. Did you ever hear of that service? Anyone uses it? Thank you Last edited by yulia; 02-23-2006 at 06:14 PM. |

				   | I took out the insurance offered through AKC and to be honest it stinks. I submitted my forms to get reimbursed and never got anything from them. I called and nothing. SO to me NO it is NOT worth crap. Now mind you this is my experience with them. |

				   | Insurance from the breeder or from a vet? I have insurance through my vet and I love it!! It was $120 to start and $19.95 per month. It covers the spay/neuter ALL shots, and de-wormers. It also covers so many labs per year if we need them. It covers all office visit fees (which alone are $30 each time we go), and I get 15% off of any services that it does not cover. So I'm not sure if thats what you meant but I LOVE it. |

				   | It sounds like a good deal. I will have to ask around here about it. |

				   | Yep! Banfield. My package is a little more than Peanut's Mom's because I got the next one up, which includes the spay/neuter. No claim stuff involved! You get a print out of how much you are spending and how you saved after each visit. I can not believe it. |

				   | we have the banfield wellness plan too. we pay the year upfront. i don't like monthly deductions from my checking account. we are pretty happy with it. before we renew i think i'm going to check out holistic vets and their insurance. i'm not sure if he needs all these tests and shots. |

				   | I also have both Ted and Toby on the Banfield plan. I love knowing that the basics are taken care of. The adult plan even includes teeth cleaning so for the price I don't think you can beat it. Besides this insurance we also have a credit card that is soley for our pets medical emergencies.

				   | I have my girls on VPI. All of Jewel's test came to over $4000.00 I got back $1800.00 from the insurance. They are little slow to process the claim but I am glad I have it. They cover standard vists, vaccinations, dental and more. To me it was worth it even before Jewel got sick. I got it for "just in case" accidents or illness and I am sure glad I did.

				   | Banfield has their own vets, but they are open 7 days a week which is also a plus for me. They are also open in the evening. The insurance only covers their own services, no other offices. I have been with the same vet there for over a year. All the staff knows us. I think they are great. They send me stuff in the mail for reminders, and every time we go in we get a follow up call the next day to see how the babies are doing. I would definitely suggest looking into it. I hate seeing posts about sick babies here, and some of it is just for lack of vaccine. It's so worth the $20 a month, I mean just think about what we spend $20 on at any given time. The up front fee is a little high, but still worth it!! |
