| Lil Bear update well last week or so I posted about lil bear and what I guess was leather ear. Well Sat I went to a new dr. which we will be transfering to. She was stumped. Did blood work and urine test. She called last night. She said that all the liver emzymes were normal except for one. It is called GDTP (anyone heard of this?) The dr suggested putting lil bear on an antioxident supplement for a few months and then test the levels again. Her thyroid was normal(which leather ear is sometime an indication of thyroid problems). I dropped of her urine yesterday so we should have results of that tonight or tomorrow. She did show a little dehydrated but nothing major. Might have to sneak a little gatorade into her water. So we are suppose to go back in 3 weeks and have a recheck, she gave us a cream antimax(sp) to put on her ears twice a day, She said if it doesn't look better she might want to start lil bear on steroids (which I really don't want to see happen) and might get us an appt. with the doggie demotologist(sp). So if anyone has any input on the GDTP level or on steroids in yorkies let me know. Thanks Michelle

| Well the vet called back last night. Lil Bear has a bladder infection and the dr. is going to put her on baytril(sp) for a week and then she will have to go back for a retest.

| Well we are hopeing. Though my mom just called me on my cell and said that lil bear just wants her to hold her (which is nothing new) but also had a couple of dime size spots of blood on her pee pad, so mom has a call into the vet. Hopeing it's just the bladder infection

| Lil Bear has colitis (sp). The vet doesn't want to put her on another antibiotic since I was also picking up baytril for her bladder infection, so she told my to give her rice and watch her and if she is not better by the time she is off baytril then they might want to gove her another antibotic for the colitis.

| Ask your vet about using the herbal supplement, 'Milk Thistle,' ALCOHOL-FREE. The one I have is by Nature's Answer. I searched online to find it since we don't have a health food store in our area. Pixie is on a couple of drops a day prescribed by her vet ever since she had a liver issue from steroids. Jessica |
