yorkies r supposed to b bigger Ok, yorkies have a breed standard, all dogs do (unless hybrid). I know bla bla bla. Now here's the funny part, the modern yorkie has been breed down incredibly! Yorkies were originally meant to be around 14 lbs. You have nothing to worry about.

I have a 13.3lb yorkie, she recently lost weight via home cooked meals but she is pure breed. I wouldn't be too stuck on her weight.

OH, yeah. My yorkie was 16.5 pounds of muscle. Seriously, his walk was that of a min pin or a bodybuilder. I also had what they said was a silky (yorkie & Australian terrier), he was about 9 lbs.

Ginger Bear is 8 yrs old and weighs a solid 15 lb. Vet says she is the perfect weight for her frame...she has a waist and you can feel her ribs. I love her chunky legs...she is strong and has the personality of a large dog, but oh so cuddly!

I have a 14 lb Yorkie. Purebred with all the papers. My understanding is that they often breed small males with large females to assure a healthy litter. Unfortunately this often leads to bigger Yorkies. Yeah, I thought I was going to have a little pocket pal, but by the time he got bigger I was hooked on the little guy and it was too late. Just a little more to love.
