| how does adult teeth look compare to baby teeth? do they look different? bunjee is starting to lose his teeth, but i've yet to find them anywhere thus far. right now when i look in his mouth, i can't tell what's new and what's baby... are they suppose to look a little different? in addition, when do they usually finish growing their adult teeth? and is there anything i can do to promote natural loss of baby tooth rather than needing it to be extracted later on? |

| Hi, My larger yorkies lose their teeth without problem, you never know, other then a bit cranky.........they just have new teeth (little larger teeth, really nothing major, maybe a bit denser looking) Smaller yorkies, or at least here, teeth come in sometimes double setted, baby teeth stay in longer and their adult teeth come in almost fully in front of them. Check their gums for redness or drainage, if felt the baby teeth are generally pretty lose in their mouth in a few months.. I watch these double teeth, so far no problems, no infections nothing at this point in time. Most disappear somewhere by 12 to 14 months of age. I have one lil lady who has two baby tooth left at 17 mths of age, it doesnt appear to cause her problems but they remain tight in her mouth. No intent of these teeth to dislodge I dont think. They have no redness or misaligning her other teeth this far. But they will most likely need removed because they are tight in her mouth and could cause problems later. | My pup is almost six months old. We play "gentle tug of war" often. I think this will help to gently encourage her baby teeth to come out. Carol Jean |
