| Injured baby This morning when we were getting up, Sadie came out from under the covers and went to the end of the bed. I heard a thud and realized she had fallen. I ran and picked her up and put her back in bed with us. She seemed ok, but when I put her down on the floor she wouldn't walk on her right front paw. We went to see the vet and he checked her and said that it didn't feel broken or fractured. He gave her a shot and gave us some anti-inflammatory pills to give her 2 times a day. We left her at home resting in the kitchen. Our lab has hurt herself a few times, but Sadie is so small, it is pathetic. Although she was really getting around well on 3 legs this morning before we left for work after going to the vet's office. Anyone ever have this happen? Thanks! |

| Worried Mother Actually I had it happen to me last night!!! I was sick my beautiful baby Chloe' feel outta my arms being a wiggle worm and landed on her side...she screamed so loud it was awful! I felt totally sick as I rushed her up to my vet, thankfully she said she looked good...no broken bones or fractures!!! She gave her some anti-inflammatory medicine and she seems to be getting around fine and acting totally normal but I'm terrified it will happen again and end in a much worse circumstance!! I'm constantly worrying whether or not she's ok because she's so small...she's only 1lb 7 ounces at 3 months and we just brought her home a week ago...I'm sure your baby will be just fine just keep a close eye on her and lots of puppy kisses!!! It was good that you took her to the vet so she could get the medicine she needs!! |

I Love Thor Donating Member | When Thor was little (one of the first times that I left him) my mom barricaded him in the kitchen with a leaf from a table...well, when he jumped up on the leaf it fell back down on his little foot! It was so upsetting and also pathetic! Thank goodness it wasn't broken but we had a hobbler for a couple days. I iced it with peas for as long as he would stand it. I hope Miss Sadie recovers quickly! |

| Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Chloe, it is weird that almost the same thing happened to you last night. I hope your baby is doing ok. Sadie was better when we came home from work tonight. But then of course, she was running around and she started to limp again. I have been trying to keep her quiet, but she just loves to jump at and play with Maddie (her big fur sister - yellow lab). I know it will take a little time for things to get back to normal. Thanks everyone. Nice to know I am not alone. |

YT Addict | Sugar jumped off my kitchen table and limped for a few days, i try to keep the chairs pulled up so she can't get up there anymore. She does it so she can see out the kitchen window. You do have to hold on tight when you pick them up. I have halters on mine so when i pick them up i also get a hold onto the halter for security. |
