| The Farmer's Dog - Who else uses them? I have been feeding my Lucy this for about 6 months now. She absolutely LOVES it. I've never given her a food she immediately eats without hesitation. She used to let her dry kibble sit there for days sometimes and I felt bad (I know I should have taken the bowl away and trained her to be hungry enough to eat, but that's neither here nor there). Bottom line; it's real food and she LOVES it. Essentially, you get a box delivered with a bunch of frozen packs; we get pork, turkey, and beef packs. Each pack has 4 meals worth and the way my shipment is scheduled, I get about 2 months at a time (be sure you've got room in the freezer). You squeeze out 1/4th of the pack each day, and by day 3, you put the next pack in the fridge to thaw. Cost is ~$4.80 per meal, so for two months, I pay about $260. i know it sounds like a lot, but for quality food for my little girl, I don't set a very restrictive budget. Anyway; curious if anyone else has any experience with this company or maybe another brand that they like better. I'm very pleased so far; we should be getting our 4th shipment in a couple weeks

| I’d never heard of Farmer’s Dog, so I googled it and read some information and reviews. Can you answer a question? The product descriptions say the foods are individualized for the particular customer, but one detailed review (by a vet) said the fat content of the beef and pork options was 24 and 25 percent. (The fat content of the turkey was listed at 18 percent.) Are those the fat percentages of the individualized food you buy? I’m only asking because I’m still quite new to yorkies, but everything I have read about their tendency toward pancreatitis says they need a lower fat diet to stay healthy. Thanks. |
