YT 2000 Club Member | Peeing in the house My jojo is 7yrs. Just recently when I leave the house he pees on the floor, leg of chair, the fan. Good thing I have tile! Why is he doing this? How do I stop it? Should I put doggie pants on him? |

| Has Jojo always been doing this? My Millie did this a couple times when we were gone for longer shopping trips, but we got her a dog door and she can take care of her business or bark at squirrels to her heart's content now! |

| He will end up with urine scald if you put a diaper on him. If this is new it could be a UTI or separation anxiety.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If he just started peeing abnormally like this - then it could very likely be a health issue. He should get a urinalysis asap. Sometimes when dogs have a UTI or similar and experience pain w/ urination, they start peeing in new places bc they associate their usual peeing places with pain. Also, is his *volume* of pee markedly increased? If so, you need to tell the vet he has increased drinking and peeing (polydispia and polyuria) - and in this case, you should ask Vet to rule out diabetes and Cushings Disease. Cushings is common among yorkies, btw.

| It’s really not safe for tiny pups to be going out by themselves. There are many things out there that could eat them.

YT 2000 Club Member | Jojo Thanks so much for your help. I will take him to the vet. He never did this before. Not a lot of pee. Just LITTLE marking. Hope it's not serious. JoJo is a very sensitive yorkie. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Jojo I took JoJo to the vet along with a sample of his urine and poop. Vet called me to say there's nothing wrong with him. Probably separation anxiety. I got some belly bands from chewy.com. he wears those when im not gone too long. |

| If it is anxiety I would try an anti anxiety medicine.

YT 2000 Club Member | Pee in the house Mr. JoJo now wears a striped belly band when I leave home. I got them at chewy.com. I wash his tummy when I get home. I don't think I need to get a full blood panel. His urine test and blood test was fine. This yorkie is smart and he will pee little drips just because I leave. Tired of doing pee checks with a flashlight . |

YT 2000 Club Member | Pee in the house Great idea. I can do that but my other yorkie, Daisy has spring loaded legs and jumps fences. I guess I can put JoJo behind the fence. He will bark but at least may not pee on things. Thanks so much for your help! |

YT 2000 Club Member | Pee in the house Why all of a sudden do some males have to mark? JoJo has Never done this. People who have yorkies with this behavior have to be so patient. When he hikes up his furry leg and pees on my coffee table legs I am not smiling! Belly bands are working for me. I need to buy kotex ads. Pet smart sells pads but they are 10 bucks for 10 pads! Dog gone it! Every time he pees it cost me a buck! Ha! That's ridiculous! Here I am past menopause buying kotex pads, Ha! |

| Is he neutered? Start the potty training over again like if he was a new puppy.
