| Link below is to a web-based article, "Mouth Odor in Yorkshire Terriers." https://pets.thenest.com/mouth-odor-...ers-12530.html You wrote, "I've tried the stuff you put in the water not much help." There are several dental health products that are added to water. I've been led to believe these are most effective is you start the regiment after a good vet dental cleaning. Ala, the products help prevent build up, but are less effective (or not at all effective) in reducing the existing buildup. (I read an article about this recently ... will try to find the link.) |

YorkieTalk "complete dental care program for dogs" posted by yorkiepuppy dated February 2010.* http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...gram-dogs.html See also, "Yorkie Teeth Cleaning" from YorkieInfoCenter. *Seems to have originally been published by PetcoPetCoach as "Dental Care: What to include in a Complete Program." |

| Generally bad breath means they need a dental.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | They likely need dentals from the vet. Many dental issues (AND build up from not brushing) are happening *under* the gumline and those issues can only be rectified while the pup is under anesthesia. All dogs will need dentals in their lives - it's just part of caring for every dog. Yours sound like they need dentals very badly, so I'd get them in soon, as they could be in pain from dental issues as well.
