| Dark Spots on Genitals My male yorkie is 3 years old who is neutered. I've been noticing a few patches of dark spots but nothing that was too concerning. Yesterday, however, I noticed a couple of dark, round spots on his pee pee. This must have developed overnight or within the past 2 days because when I bathed him on his birthday (January 20), there was nothing there. Really worried! Any input? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My kiddos have these too and the vet has told me they are nothing to worry about at all. If these were red areas, that would be different as that could be pyoderma, but this doesn't look red to me at all. Next time you do go to the vet though, I'd just get it looked at to confirm...

| Zoey has some on her lower belly. I don't know what they are. I took a Q Tip drenched with baby oil and rubbed one. Something dark came off. I looked at it under a jeweler's loop to see if it was a bug but it wasn't. I have no idea what it is. I thought maybe dirt?

| Thank you! His annual is coming up in a month, so I'll ask them then. Googling these things online can be helpful but also a nightmare at the same time =( It was just so concerning as to how rapidly they came. I will try to use baby oil to see if they will rub off. I was able to get some of the black stuff of the patches but when I tried to wipe off the brown spots with water yesterday it didn't come off =( Last edited by CobyBear; 01-23-2015 at 08:34 AM. |

| Try rubbing coconut oil on the area and the black scabs will peel right off. |
