| Adequan for Knees / Arthritis My vet is saying my 4 year old Yorkie is going to have knee or arthritis problems in coming years. The vet can apparently notice it but my dog seems fine. She runs around, jumps, etc. The vet is saying this will help her in the future. I'm not really considering it right now but may in the future. My question is does anyone have experience with adequan for knees / arthritis? |

| Why does she think that she is going to have arthritis?

| She says she can tell by the way she walks and she did an exam of her knees and said there was something off with them. That's all I know...something about her tendons or ligaments that she could feel wasn't quite right. The Yorkie runs and jumps as if nothing is the trouble so I'm hesitant to do anything now but am curious if anyone has done these injections and what the results were. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Honestly, what your vet told you sounds very odd - and completely unscientific and inconclusive. So no, I wouldn't be giving a medication for something that isn't even conclusively diagnosed yet. I'd get a second opinion that includes grading of the knees, if she even has luxating patellas in the first place. Best of luck!
