| What do you feed your monster :D ? As I've stated before in a previous post, I am having a hard time getting my baby Max to eat. I'm thinking of requesting samples of different food brands to give it a try, due to the return policy in certain stores. Petco and petsmart , return policy is amazing. If i go to a local pet store I am unable to return the 4-6lb food bag because its open, now thats a $20-26 loss I cant afford. I'd like to know what do you feed your dog? If you sprinkle freeze dried, raw or wet food into their kibble, Please tell me which brand. Give me some ideas that do not include home cooking. I had an experience with homecooking that I do not want to try again. I'm really trying to get my dog to eat and I would love to hear the different dog foods the yorkietalk mamas feed. I've tried : Merrick, Fromm (Beef Fritata), Wellness, natures instinct (dry), solid gold, canidae, natural balance, Orijen (Regional) , Acana (heritage meat), whole earth farms. I've heard about "I and Love and You", "weruva", "earthborn", "natures logic, "taste of the wild", "artemis", "zignature"-- Has anyone fed this food before?

| Lu can be very picky with her food. She stopped eating just dry food ages ago (she went almost 3 days with no food simply because she didn't want it) so now I use a mixture of wet and dry The dry food I use is Acana (Small Breed) and Natures:Menu wet food. She still has her days of not eating much, but she always eats something now She cleans the bowl the majority of the time. |

They have so many formulas, its hard to choose from. Is it the yorkshire or the small breed formula? I am iffy about trying this due to the by-products containment.

| Royal canin have a Yorkshire Terrier brand alright. Though I swapped to the Acana myself after reading how much better the Acana is. My sister was talking to a woman in the doggie daycare (one of the employees) and they said that royal canin used to be one of the better ones but they don't have as much meat in them since they got bought over. I'm only going by what I've been told there but one thing I do know is that Lu's tear stains went away after swapping her food |

| Mine loved Royal canin but I wanted to be able to feed them the same food- puppy and adult, so I switched them to acana- free range poultry. It's grain free and they love it. I do soak it first in water bc my puppy was swallowing it whole, though some feel that's not an issue, it made me concerned, I have heard orijen is the top of the line but my gal can't handle that mich protein im afraid. The zignature looks like a more affordable version of the acana, but the ingredients are a bit different, my pet store reco it bc it was smaller kibble and cheaper. | I use acana for mine, it's not small breed specific but the ingredients are superior to many small breed ones. My girl is only 3.4 pounds and has a tiny mouth but chews it just fine. My puppy weighs more then her but I soak it for him. |

Has anyone tried weruva? I emailed them to request samples of the kibble. I told them a little story about the crisis I was going through and how my dog was very thin. They said they couldnt mail me samples because the price of shipping was worth many more then the price of the actual bags. The good news is a Sales manager got back to me and said that they would deliver a 4lb and box of wet food pouches directly to a local pet store thats affiliated with the brand and let me know when it is delivered so that I can pick it up. Isnt that amazing? This is the ingredient in the dry kibble i chose: De-boned Chicken, Salmon Meal, Turkey Meal, Lentils, Chickpeas, De-boned Turkey, De-boned Salmon, Whole Eggs, Green Peas, Split Peas, Pumpkin, Chicken Fat (Stabilized with mixed tocopherols), Natural Flavors, Salmon Oil, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Tomato Pomace, Apple Pomace, Chicken Cartilage, Dried Seaweed Meal, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate, Carotene, Inositol, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Biotin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Phylloquinone), Minerals (Zinc Proteinate, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Iron Proteinate, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganous Oxide, Selenium Yeast, Calcium Iodate), Choline Chloride, Taurine, Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract, Dried Trichoderma Longibrachiatum Fermentation Extract, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Rosemary Extract

| I think if I kept trying kibble and my dog truly didn't like that many brands, I would try the frozen raw pellets. Have you ever tried wetting the kibble- soaking it in water? Those would be my only suggestions, it sounds like you have quite a particular pup lol! |

But I might try Primal instead because he's to lick his paws non-stop which could only mean he's allergic to some ingredient. He doesnt like the frozen patties at all lol. Weird dog, he walks away from it. Having a freeze-dried diet is way too expensive, i can do freeze dried mixed with kibble.

| My girl didn't do the wellness, she liked zignature for a second, raw either freeze dried or wetted or fresh or frozen was a huge no go for her, weruva did not settle well in her tummy, we had this bright and shining moment of maybe nine months where she was on Royal canin Yorkshire terrier blend and that was so amazing and wonderful and I celebrated every day and then they switched the formula and she didn't like it anymore. I know yorkie mom does RC mini so I will probably try that next if I get the gall to switch, my girl seems pretty happy with what she is on (for her) but she is still to skinny. We use natural balance duck and potatoe both wet and dry every day. I am not thrilled it is white potatoe but the other flavors don't seem to suit her. Good luck on your food search

| For wet food, I like I and Love and You Weruva- is kind of like people food instead of the mushy texture most dog food is Zignature Nulo I love the idea of raw but it can messy and we travel, so I often use Stella & Chewy's freeze dried raw. If I give kibble, it's acana, but I think moxie prefers wet and freeze dried, though she will eat anything. I think dogs in general prefer wet and raw and home cooked food to kibble.
