| Sudden excessive licking My yorkie suddenly started licking himself quite frequently on his back where his back leg is; what could this mean? He licks himself so much that his fur gets all knotted. I don't see a rash or redness or anything on his skin? Anybody have any idea? I thought I heard before that if dogs lick themselves it meant they were in pain; is that true? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If he's licking only 1 leg, then I'd have that leg thoroughly checked out. If he's licking his paws, then I'd think allergies as that's the cardinal sign.

| Probably your yorkie has an allergy that is why he's licking excessively. You need to bring your lovely yorkie to his vet in order to properly discuss the problem. |
