| ![]() Hi everyone.... its been a while since I have posted anything. I am having both my babies Coco & Pebble spayed nextm week thursday. They have never had puppies but Coco has has 1-2 false pregnancy. I know this is the right thing to do for them but I can't help feeling scared and worried for them. I am scared of a complication or anything else that can happen. My little one Pebbles is 3 years old but weights 3-4 pounds tiny little thing its mostly hair! lol I am affraid she is so small and it will be harder on her then Coco . ( 8pounds) Has anyone experienced anything bad or infections or anything that I should be ware of?? I need something to calm my nerves !! |

| ![]() I completely feel your anxiety! I was a mess when both my girls when in. Monroe was spayed at about 9 months when she weighed just 4 pounds… I was so scared about her size but she did wonderfully. Rylee was a little over a year when she was spayed and 6 pounds. She did fantastic as well. It’s so scary having then put under but they should both do just fine! Lots of snuggles and rest that weekend & then they’ll be golden. And it’s such a relief when it’s done! |

Surgery is well surgery, it is an extensive one , but vets do it all the time. Make sure you have pre op blood work done and the vet knows the most recent anaesthetia protocols. There is always a risk for your dog going under, but it is usually minimal.

| ![]() Just had Mimi spayed during an emergency c-section and I was honestly so nervous about the anesthesia but she came right out of it and no problems! She's not even in pain. Just have some baby wipes on you for the next few days as they leak a little bit of bloody discharge when they pee! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() The most important things are: get the pre-surgical bloodwork done, have IV fluids running during surgery (always!), and have a PAIN PLAN and pain meds for going home -- make *sure* you know what you are supposed to do if/when pain is NOT being managed enough.
