| Help!!! Last night I posted that peawee's allergies was making his eyes red and swollen and that they were itchy. The vet gave me a cream to put on them. Today I wake up to find that Peawee has scratched all the fur off the front of his neck and he's acting like a dog on drugs. He is wigging out. Does anyone have any suggestions. I don't think its the medicine because he's had to use it several times before.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh wow - POOR little guy - has he been checked for mites ? There are some mites that get UNDER the skin and a friend of mine just found out that's what caused HER girl to chew and lose all the hair on her back feet - do you think this is only allergies ? I would stop the cream right away and get that vet on the phone and tell them he's having a really hard time today and you need to get in there sooner ...that must be making him miserable and GOOD LUCK !~ |

| Our Toto had a reaction similar to that .... it was from our new carpet! The medication along with a thorough carpet cleaning cleared it up ... not before she had absolutely pulled wads of hair out. Her eyes also reacted like your Peawee's. Hope he is OK.

| Sadie also had an allergic reaction to my new carpet. She scratched like crazy. Gave her 1/4 of a children's benedry tablet and it worked. I still have to do that if she starts itching.

| Just because he never had an allergic reaction before on the medication, would not mean he can't have one. I would think that it is thae same as we are, you can take penicillin 100 times and not get a reaction, then the next time have one. Just a thought!! |

| The new mommy to one of my girl pups that now lives in Florida was having a problem with Chloe' scratching something terrible from the back of her ear all the way down to her eye and the docs kept thinking she was having allergy problems and that was what it looked like but come to find out she has a yeast infection instead in her ear and it was causing her to scratch all the way down to her eye...something else you may want to mention to the vet just in case she doesn't clear up. I didn't know they could get yeast infections in their ears!!
