Didn't understand your millet and blood plasma reference at first, then I realized it a reference to the food I feed my dogs. Cathy, I just gave a review of the food to help others find something I think is very healthy. I don't think millet and blood plasma are cheap, and something that loaded with real not synthetic vitamins could never be considered a filler. The true meaning of the word holistic is looking at the organism as a whole, western medicine has traditionally treated symptoms, a pill for this and a pill for that instead of looking at the whole individual. Unfortunately, it became a buzz word that any company could use to push their product and lost some of it's real meaning. However, there are still holistic vets who take the word very seriously and they are adding to the overall medical knowledge. Are you saying that Dr. Dunn is a holistic vet just because he's open minded to raw food?

It was simply a suggestion since it seems that diet is so controversial. This was posted by you recently and it was on another thread that was a bit controversial. I was simply suggesting that perhaps it might be good to have a separate section for the holistic folks...and one for conventional. (edited to add: I don't have the link, but it is not important now anyway.) I don't wish to post on this thread regarding the content. If I did, I would have posted. I have been reading a couple of threads lately that quite frankly seem a bit too heavy for me to even get involved in. I make my points about food when I wish to or feel the need; but it is not my desire to argue with people. I honestly feel there is way to much bait being tossed out to the lions. Just my two cents. People can take that any way they wish..I am not going to expound on it. Just making my observation is all this is.

We're not going to create a separate section for holistic/natural interests merely bc the non-holistic or anti-holistic folks can't handle the holistic threads properly. I've never seen the holistic folks come in and go after those who are posting something purely scientific in nature -- yet I've seen the reverse plenty! And I should probably clarify too-- I have never even been to a holistic vet with my pets. I haven't needed to thus far, for whatever reasons. However, if there was a reason for me to pursue one - I would not hesitate. Though I pursue mostly western medicine, I feel a true openness toward those who pursue something different or opposite of me...as I think it fosters discussion, ideas, and options. I'm totally open to all forms of treatment - for humans or pets.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This article was an attempt to help those who haven't studied nutrition and have problems discerning the truth. I find it comical that some would even think it's controversial. Unless you want to comment on specifics of the article with which you disagree and WHY you think it's wrong, we really can’t learn anything. That’s what YT should be about, learning, not just I’m right and you’re wrong. I'm so sick of all the snide remarks, "maybe we ought to have a holistic and raw section,” What does that even mean and how does it relate to this article? Also, "throwing bait to the lions, what does that mean; do some of you actually think I wrote this thread to rile you up? I get a lot of PM's asking me about nutrition and one thing I learned is most people are very unsure of their knowledge. Some of the basic things in nutrition are not that controversial, as you go up the levels of knowledge it becomes more controversial, with different schools of thought, but this is some very basic stuff.

When some of us post opinions and we don't like the responses, we have to debate the knowledge. We don't have the benefit of telling people things that will censor them such as suspensions.

| I like this article for a couple of reasons. Please remember these are just my opinions and I am not trying to sway anyone in how to feed their dogs. I am not a veterinary doctor. As a matter of fact I have been pretty much an uninformed, ignorant dog owner for 40 years It wasn't until I joined this site that my eyes have opened as to how I take care of my pups greatly affects their lifespan and quality of life. 1. I trust the source. Pet MD, IMO, is a good site. 2. It does not mention any specific brands. It gives you the info to make a knowledgeable decision when choosing a food. Is it the bible of food choosing - no. But I think it has some good info that combined with everything else I am learning allows me to make an educated decision on which food to choose. As with all articles and info on this site, I try to keep an open mind and absorb it all and then make a decision based on what I think is best for me and my dogs.

I am not going to debate you or anyone else today. This stuff is just getting old and toxic.

The only threat I have had is to be censored....and yes, it is very true that I don't wish to be suspended, banned or prevented from posting on certain forums on YT. As for being threatened by anything you are saying? Sorry, but is actually laughable.
