today i offered Chelsey a piece of peer and she loved it. For those that use the toykong for their babies could try making them a tasty icecream in the summer with Yoghurt and fresh fruit, mix the fruit and yoghurt poor it in the kong and freeze it up for a few hours... they love it

| Nuts As far as nuts.....I heard walnuts, almonds and cashews were good for them as long as they were unsalted/unflavored, but I heard that macadamia nuts were toxic as well as coffee and chocolate. |

| I have talked to several vets-- raisins and grapes are really bad..especially because of our little guys kindneys and liver. Protein is also bad if its high.. and over a period of time, may cause kidney "burn out". They can't process high protein. |

| My baby absolutely loves baby carrots (cooked or raw), green apple, and scrambled eggs (only about 1 tblsp.) Haven't tried hard boiled eggs, pears or cucumbers yet, sounds good. |

| Big mess with grapes My husband fed our black lab 4 grapes about a month ago. What a mess we woke up to all over the house. He had diarrhea so bad for about a day and then was real gassy for a least a week. A person I work with read an article at her vet's office that said 4 grapes could kill a German Shepherd!!! Luckily our lab is okay, we had no idea though!

| I forgot avocados. Bailey really likes them, again, in very small quantities the equivalent of a teaspoon broken up in several small pieces. Bailey says to you all. Samc |

| I just read that baby food is not good for dogs because it contains onion powder, which of course onions aren't good at all. Also, citrus oil extracts, grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, dairy products, mushrooms, raw eggs, raw fish, sugary foods, and table scraps. The table scraps because it's not nutritionally balanced for dogs and if you do give them it shouldn't be more then 10% of their diet and fat should be trimmed and absolutely NO BONES!!!

| Cheese Hi, I was told many years ago that Cheese is not good for dogs overall it damages the smell sense. Does someone know if this is true. My Webster loves a little bit of cheese every now and then. Tx Linda

| Gracie doesn't appear to really care for fruits yet, but she does love cheese (mostly cheddar!), meat of any sort (deli, hamburger), yogurt, cereal (small pieces of Fruit Loop type cereal as a treat), granola, cottage cheese, and sometimes peanut butter. I don't give her big amounts of anything, just little samples to see if she likes it. Cheese does NOT damage the sense of smell! Dairy products in general will certainly create thicker mucuous in the nasal cavity, etc. which could certainly affect the ability to smell but it doesn't do permanent damage.

| I just read that dogs and cats don't have sufficient amounts of the enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose in dairy products. It can result in severe diarrhea. Other then that I don't think that cheese damages the sense of smell.
