Most importantly though...how is his actual body condition...is he too skinny, indicating he's not eating enough, or is it good/sufficient? See attached piccie.

Hello and thanks for the chart. He's in the 4/5 range. Also I noticed this past week when I grabbed him while he was trying to run away that he is stocky/has good muscle.

Yep. I would say I give a fairly big spoonful mixed in. He also gets a Dentastix chew every night and a few treats throughout day so I try to account for that. His food is about 430 cals/cup. Every dog is different! But I know a few people with smaller dogs that only eat 1/4 cup per day, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's all your small pup needs.

Also keep in mind bag recommendations are based upon unaltered dogs (not spayed/neutered), as an un-neutered male will often eat a lot more than one who is fixed. So the back of the bag is not always going to be exact or work for every dog.

Some dogs just don't like to eat a ton either. I mean most days Jackson won't eat earlier than noon anyway. Sometimes he will act hungry around 3-4pm so I'll give him 1/4 cup and then give him the rest (another 1/4 cup) around 7-8pm. We really don't have a set schedule.
