| ![]() Almost every brand has had a recall the biggest deal is how they handled it. At 8 weeks the pup should still be with his mom another month and most people who get there pups that young have a huge problem with getting the pups to eat and at that age that is very dangerous. So for now since he is eating and has already had so much change please keep him on the food the breeder had him on for a couple of months.

| ![]() I got my puppy at 8 weeks old and I even switched her food right away and she has done just fine but I do think its in the pups best interest to wait if possible. My pup was on some purina puppy food that I couldn't even find the same formula of so I just decided to change right away. She is eating Simply Nourish puppy food from petsmart I looked it up on dog food advisor and its a 5 star food at a reasonable price. She hasn't had any problems and eats very well. I have tried to give her treats and she will not take them so I just use her regular puppy food during training and she loves it. Good luck with your puppy ![]() |

| ![]() I had mine on wellness but he didn't seem to like it much. Always hadn't to add either cottage cheese or wet food to it. I have changed him to bil-Jac as that is what the breeder of our soon to be new addition is feeding. Sammy likes it much better! It is the first pellet type we have tried but so far so good!

| ![]() Armani is doing very well and doesn't seem stressed at all. I am really leaning towards Canine Caviar or Halo but again never had any personal experience with either company. They both look good on paperwork and i don't think either of them ever had a recall. |

| ![]() Again it's not about recalls it's about the company and there quality control. Canine Caviar was like the it thing for awhile and a lot of people found out it was not as great as it was said to be. Some dogs got really itchy on it, some just didn't do well on it, others just wouldn't touch it and so on. I was not impressed. A lot of this holistic company's put more into the advertising then the actual food. Just because one has not had a recall does not mean they have not had issues it just means they might not have been reported.

| ![]() Ziva ate solid gold weebits . I switched my other dog to Earthborn Holistics Coastal Catch and Ziva switched also. Abby came to us on Wellness chicken and refused to eat it- switched to the Earthborn and really did well. My daughter adopted a nine yo yorkie in February (eating Purina lamb n rice) she is no longer the same dog - she now is slim and fit, is not greasy and smelly, and her hair is soft and shiny! I think the no grain/fish protein foods are easier to digest. Added probiotics and digestive enzymes are a real plus. |

| ![]() After lots of tummy troubles winnie has been doing extremely well on Natures Variety Prairie puppy food. It was recommended to me by a member here....it has straightened all her tummy troubles out and even seems to fill her up best out of anything we have tried. |

| ![]() I was at a local family owned pet store yesterday and one of the employees recommend Fromm and he said Fromm, Orijen and Acana are probably the only companies that never outsource their production and make their food in house with USA / Canada products. |
